For some reason I thought I read that it would support Roon (not from Devialet, but somewhere on these boards. . ).

Thanks

This is what I wrote after the 1000 Pro launch event.   (following a chat with Devialet's Mathieu Pernot)

'The new steamer will be UPNP, but does include an ARM processor, and could be programed for as yet unspecified future applications. Devialet are in contact with Roon, it looks to me like there are some commercial subtleties here, Devialet cannot say anything firm.'

So, Roon support is not confirmed.  Possible yes, but it is also possible it will never happen.  We will need to wait until Devialet advise something definitive.

Axel you said earlier

"I'm also in the UK. I have emailed Devialet three times to see what's going on, but didn't even receive a proper reply, only a message giving me a ticket number. At least you got a reply! They've probably underestimated demand, as you say."

Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs.I had expected an e-mail reply to my ticket, but in fact you have to go to the Devialet Help Centre and create a password log-in.This allows you to read the correspondence from the tab "My Activities", and this is where I found my reply to the initial request/ticket.

That said, I raised a follow-up earlier today which appears under "My Activities" but is now marked SOLVED, but without any further information.

Far from teaching me to suck eggs, I hadn't realised that you had to log in etc. I did as you said and saw that the reply to my latest message was:

thanks for your email.
Normally the boxes should arrived to you pretty soon,
We have some late from a logistics perspective, but we will revert during the incoming days. As soon as you get the boxes, the shipping label will be sent to you via our logistics team.

If you do not recieved the boxes on Thursday, please raise this to us, so we can accelerate the shipping to you. In between I will let our team know that you are waiting for the full pack of boxes and labels.

Best Regards,

Sébastien Faure | Customer service & support Devialet

So, thanks for the info!  Smile

Thanks. . .so, that is probably where I saw it and assumed the best. However, as has been posted, there is a real chance they will prefer a single unified platform on Spark, etc. . .Wonder what the odds are that the streamer board will only work with a Dialog and Spark. . .who knows.

So take the O d'A;
Take off the extra watts: not really needed for most speakers.
Take away the improvement of going dual mono.
Add the new and improved power supply.
And you might not be too far off.

Keep on thinking Undecided

I think this is exactly what we are all hoping for... but the lack of any feedback so far about the 220 Pro certainly has me puzzled.   Perhaps they are simply not out there enough yet for anyone to have reasonably compared the 200 and/or 400 to the 220 Pro.   I'm not about to send my 200 off for upgrade until I either hear it myself or, short of that, hear enough positive feedback by those whose opinions I value to believe it's worth it.  Hey, I want to believe.   But Devialet doesn't make it easy, do they...

How many 200s (or for that matter 200, 400, 800) have actually been sold? 100s? Low thousands? This is not a mass market device but a very expensive highly specialized piece of equipment. So. . .could it be that the actual number sold is very low, the number being upgraded is even lower, etc?

Does anyone have any idea of actual sales of the Expert line?

Pretty sure the CEO said about 7000 units in am interview last year, so maybe 10,000 now?

From the looks of Oxford Audio's twitter feed they only got 220s this week, so it's reasonable to assume there are few new units out there for any length of time.  Maybe the reports will pick up soon.

Well, it will have upnp, and the marketing blurb says along the lines of it 'opening the path for many uses of dematerialised music such as upnp'. I've also read somewhere else them saying Devialet OS being Linux opens up a lot of possibilities. This, combined with the fact that other similar 'high end' brands are all implementing Roon make me think there's hope.

What we really need of course is a few pop stars and tech billionaires saying they want Roon too. Then we'd have it in a flash Big Grin
Oxford Audio has received a 220 at least 2 weaks ago and according to twitter they played a 200 to 220 comparison last saturday, concluding that the 220 sounds better. I asked for a bit more detailed information but didn't receive a reply....
Awkward - but I think that's for some reason. Either they still have 200s on stock or they are not interested in upgrades (what I assume) or their stock of 220s is still too small... who knows?
Wery Strange that we Don,t hear more about the ney Pro models , they want US too pay , but where is the Real testing? And i hope that the dealers invite people too seriøs lisning about the product compaire the models 200 vs 220. 400 Vs 440 and so on and so on .
