maybe some tuning specialist will offer a Devialet tuning in the future that is supported by Devialet...

I am thinking may b a more warranty friendly mod is to solder the speaker post to a pin connector cable? And possibly cryo that direct connection mod piece?

Yes that was my mod before. I soldered a cable from binding post to the pins...but I have to say that soldering the cables directly to the D-Amp Connector Contacts was a big improvement over the other soldered to the pins. I was surprised myself. Didn't expect that much of a difference. The pins are of no good within the signal chain.

But see the riserboards, anyway it's better to get rid of it first Rolleyes

That was my intent  Rolleyes but I don't believe they have any interest in a kind of 'AMG - Mercedes' - Partnership.
Maybe I'll do it anyway giving a 1y warranty myself  Wink

Quick update on the burn in (5days 24/7). It's getting better from day to day. I'm feeling like my kids in the morning these days with the advent. What is there waiting for me behind the door of my listening room Big Grin

I'm puzzled. How can a small change of a signal path have this profound positive impact on the sound? I can't tell and I thought the sound was so good before?!

Sound improvements:

It's hard to put into words...expect the sound improving by every populare phrase as being cleaner/more transparent/mapping improved/more precision/control, you can hear louder/ etc. than before.

But what struck me most is the improvement of sheer realism the D200 is now (more) capable to present. Everybody knows that sound improvements wear out emotionally with time. Goosebumps getting rare...but here they are again.

And it is not the sound got softer/warmer (it is when it's meant to be) but instruments keep their edges so nicely it gives me those goosebumps within a second...Patricia Barber - Mythologies 'Orpheus/Sonnet' ...the e-guitar is so clean and crunchy it's a direct path to emotional reaction, Ottmar Liebert - One Guitar...he is a master of guitar and on this recording he plays at such speed and precision and the D200 now puts it all together so naturally - effortless is the right word here...
The D performs allmost like a 3D-Tetris-Game for sound patterns. It was likely HD before and is now 4k in resolution. Every sound seems to find it's place in space and time. Very special...eventually for me.

have you ever tried to use something like a contact optimizer on the connector pins ?

Not yet. I read about it in the past...but it was out of my mind until now mentioned. I will try 'next' year.

In my experience soldering joints need indeed some burn in time!
I decided to try this mod. Will report.
I opened my dev and removed the binding posts which I want to replace with nexgens which I still have laying around. Send an e-mail to gui with some questions.
Hi Duomike - I think quite a few people would be interested in seeing some pictures of the operation. Looking forward to reading your report!
