When playing spotify in my iphone connected via bluetooth to Gold, I hear popping sounds.

Anyone experiences this? What could be the problem? Did I get a faulty Phantom?

* i notice that anything on BLUETOOTH creates this popping sound.
Once I connect to the phantom using my iphone via bluetooth I can hear popping sound EVEN WITHOUT PLAYING ANYTHING.

Have you tried to connect something else via bluetooth to rule out a phone problem?
