I think that ambient temperatures will have a bearing on results. I'm guessing that Rama's room temperature is higher than Brian's. Maybe it would be helpful (if possible) if this info could be included in your readings, then the temperature difference could be worked out and therefore make the readings more valid. Also the orientation i.e. vertical or horizontal, as one of my amps is wall mounted and runs cooler than the rack mounted one.

Alex.
You are correct Alex about the ambient temperature. I have the AC on so my room temperature is around 25C. But since these units are new I am guessing the temperature is going to settle down. Thanks to BrianT and everyone who contributes in the future. Just on a side note listening to classical music especially symphonic orchestral music i am amazed at what the 440 Pro is capable of, the soundstage and the dynamics are just breathtaking.
Also how the amps are placed will make a big differens in the temperature. I have mine in a built in rack in the wall and I can get up to 50C on some parts of my 440 if I play for many hours at around -30.0 on the volume. Also if they are placed on higher feets will affect the temperature, I have mine on 3 Ansuz Darkz D-TC on each amp and that lowered the temperature a bit as I suppose more air will flow around them.

Rama

You have the AC, I have the heat on  Dodgy

Room temp 22.5C I do have both the amps raised at the rear
so they slope forward letting more air under them.

Speaker, SAM on/off/% and DPM on/off will also have a significant impact on running temperatures Wink

Thanks PhilP, updated my original post to reflect the info you mentioned.

That's right, with dpm off an sam on my temp of A rises fast over 60 deg. When i turn off sam or turn on dpm the temp of A falls to the 40's. D and Power Supply are nearly stable. So i don't use sam. With dpm on the SQ is defintly lower. So i don't use dpm.
