I'm interested to know if anyone has tried or is using the phono input on a Companion and if any difference in sound quality or any issues compared to using the phono input on the Master. I'm currently using the phono input to my 440pro Master. There's an RCA-RCA phono cable for sale on a local HiFi classifieds which I've been wanting to try as an upgrade to what I'm currently using and it's on sale for a good price, but is only 1 meter length. I need 1.5 meters to my Master phono input, but can get to my Companion phono input using the 1 meter length. I understand I will need to use the trigger cable with the phono input on the Companion. The other issue which concerns me is that my Audioquest Diamond Coax cable linking my Master to Companion is directional. Interested in forum members views, experiences, suggestions before I go through the time consuming excersise of swapping cables and a new config to test.
Some people have reported the companion as sounding better, others the same. They sound the same to me.

Can you not try it with your current setup?

Tried this over the weekend and couldn't seem to get it working. I have made necessary changes in configuator, phono input on master off, phono input on companion on and trigger cable showing, put the new config file on SD cards, Dev's show both configs loading when switched on, the source is showing as "turntable" which is what I have named the input on Companion, but I am getting no sound. Scrolling through the Dev menu, the phono input is showing "0". I have tried a reformat of SD cards and clean download of firmware and config file. Anyone have any ideas about how to get this working.
