i have been interested in directly mounting Stillpoints into the mounting locations of its fragile feet.  Most folks know that Stillpoints makes hardware that replaces feet. The main problem is that they want the dealers to do the heavy lifting and the dealers are not very eager. So I wrote to Devialet and received the following email and attachments. Ideas?

Dear Robert,

Thank you for your message.
Diameter should be 20mm max.
Please refer to the attached document. Not sure how these stillpoints are installed.

Best regards,

According to the Stillpoints website, he smallest diameter (presumably at the mounting point) is 0.74" which translates to 18.8mm. This should fit perfectly in the 20mm diameter area for the Devialet footer.

What I don't know is how the curved top would sit in the flat mounting area of the Devialet base. I'm interested in this too.
FROM STILLPOINTS

Hello Robert,

We have heard from many a Deviate customer of their positive experiences with our Stillpoints.  That said, I have not heard of anyone attaching Stillpoints to their Deviate component. Stillpoints absorb very high frequencies that
interfere with the musical experience. Depending on the placement of internal components, Stillpoints when moved around the underneath of the equipment will give you varying results. For the most part, where manufacturers place their feet are not where Stillpoints perform the best. I would strongly suggest not attaching Mini’s to your component but to use the Mini’s on their bases underneath your component. Moving the Mini’s around will give you a tuning effect to your system and your tastes. That’s what I would suggest.

Thank you for your interest in our products,

Paul

I’m not employed by Stillpoint, but in my humble opinion EVERYONE should buy a set of 6 Stillpoints (for dual boxes), stick 3 on your table/rack and then 3 between Devialets.  The middle ones look a little strange due to the curvature of the Devialet, but no matter.  Simply astonishing!

Sorry, missed this one - I use the smallest Stillpoints (ultra mini’s?)
