The German HiFi Magazine Stereoplay has rated the 1000 Pro Best of Class in its current issue.
Their summary statement was "Perfection in every sense with the unavoidable conclusion that the Devialet 1000 Pro has redefined how high the bar can hang."
Pretty impressive. Here an additional excerpt from the review:

This is due to the highly efficient power supply which delivers up to 14 Amperes of power being almost equivalent to that of a normal household power socket. Do you feel / think that the power deference between the 1000 pro and 800 is that big ?

There is no reference to any of the other Devialet Amps in the article but they do mention that the switching power supply in the Pro Version of the 1000 produces 25% more power than that of the previous Expert Line.

I seam to recall that the 1000 Pro power supply is 4kW vs 3kW for the D800 and O'dA?
To answer no32's question, listening to music that has real dynamic bass and slam, the 1000 Pro does seam to have a little more impact than the D800, not 25% more though I would say, but better, yes. This is obviously very subjective stuff so lets put it this way, listening to most music I could not say that more 'power' obviously manifests itself in any way in the 1000 Pro, more detail, more insight, yes absolutely. Maybe the power helps to give the detail and insight in subtle ways, Mathieu Pernod does like the line that 'infinite power' would be the ideal. But every now and again it is more obvious, you get a passage of music that happens to have the right sort of bass slam and impact and it can be quite startling, in a good way, a kind of wow factor. It never feels 'strained', that is for sure!
I am not someone who gets particularly bothered about reviews, but even so, it is of course nice when a good one does emerge. A while back I posted about listening to the dCS Vivaldi stack with DAG mono block amps and mentioned that I thought that in some respects I thought the 1000 Pro was better. That post was followed by a bit of on line banter between myself and Dr Tone (late of this parish), who accused me of 'coming in wearing a French flag'. Dr Tone's context was quite funny, but it possibly diluted the fact that my post re the dCS comparison was quite serious, and that was a £200k rig, so also setting the bar quite high!
Much respect to Dr Tone if he ever checks in and catches up with this by the way, I was posting on CA recently with some questions and comments re HQPlayer, Dr T posted some very short and sweet remarks regarding HQPlayer filters with the Devialet, and after much experimenting myself recently, I can see he was bang on the money. He could be a bit blunt sometimes, but he knew what he was doing!

the strange thing in their measurements is that the output in 8 ohm is 599W and in 4 ohm is 571W. Very strange as it should be more than 1000W into 4 ohm...I have asked in their forum why that is so...

One possible explanation, and I know at least of one very experienced tester who got caught by it, is that they made their power measurement with SAM turned on. In which case the feature protecting the maximum woofer excursion as well as the thermal protection kicks in.
I was in fact being told by Pierre-Emmanuel Calmel that he did not know of any speaker that was able to really sustain 1000W for a long enough period to be measured as RMS power. Therefore he was telling me that unless you turn SAM off you won't be able to measure the pro1000 to its rated power.
Of course, what I'm saying does not negate the value of the 1000W for the transients.

Is that per channel I wonder? Even that would be unusual though as power roughly doubles when the impedence is halved.
