[Nov 14 price drop -- $5500]

Selling my "extra" Expert 250. The listing is on Audiogon, asking US$5,500. This unit began as a d-Premier, subsequently upgraded.

Here's your chance to upgrade to the Expert 800, if you've got an Expert 250 already!

Why sell? I was running a mismatched pair (one bright chrome, one dark chrome) as an 800, and found a matching bright chrome unit when I upgraded to 1000 Pro. So now the dark chrome Expert 250 has to go to a new home. US buyers only, thanks!

Do you know if it would be upgradeable to the 250 Pro? Might be an easy way for me to move to Mono setup.

I have asked Devialet customer service. I believe, however, that they have committed to retaining an upgrade path for all the d-Premier family, so even if this upgrade program is closed, I assume that it will again be eligible for the next upgrade. When I went Expert Pro 1000, for example, I sent my Expert 250 along with an original d-Premier, and they upgraded those two together to the Pro 1000 spec. 

I will update the thread when I hear from customer service.

So after some back-and-forth with Devialet (they seem to think every inquiry about upgrades must be about Core Infinity upgrades, can't imagine why), it seems like the Expert to Expert Pro upgrade path is closed for now. So, no luck for you if you were seeking a bargain path to 800.

But for anyone with an Expert 250 (not the latest Pro), this one will mate and make it an Expert 800.

Bump and price drop! It's like Black Friday come early!
