Hi.
I am a little embarrassed to ask, but I am unsure what to CALL the device I want / need. I don't know if it's called a server or what.

Roon is very slow on my old Mac Mini, and I can't make remote from my phone work reliably and the "transport in use" error is driving me crazy.
For these reasons, I want to find a device to:

-Be remote controlled from my iPhone, iPad or MacBook
-Run Roon
-Source music off my outboard hard drive
-Feed that to my Devialets via Ethernet

Bonus features:
-GUI on the TV sometimes
-Source from a streaming service e.g. Tidal, Spotify
-Ability to rip from CD to the hard drive.

I hope this is achievable!
I am no longer cash-rich so I am trying to keep this well under 1000 dollars (I'm in Australia).
Thanks very much for any contributions e.g. is The Audio Alchemy DMP-1 the sort of thing I want?
thanks and kindest regards
David.
Hello David

Why not buy a modest Intel NUC, and install Roon ROCK ? It is a cinch to set up, and will do almost everything that you need. You won't have the GUI for the TV (do you really need it ? ) and you will need to find a way to rip CD's (but you still have the Mac Mini), but everything else will be just fine, from a little box hardly bigger than a pack of cigarettes !

This mini NUC with windows 10 licence included is perfect for Roon and an SSD hard drive connected to storage your music files or whatever.
It cost only 100 euros or 110 $ very small and passive fan which means absolute silence.
Work perfectly for me.

Enjoy.
you dont need Win 10 licence on Intel NUC, just roon rock, which is free. I would go in that direction, it works good.

I too have the exact requirements as "ICUDoc" but with a small difference ... I want the very best in SQ !! And a simple setup.

I was looking at SOtM sMS-200ultra with dedicated PSU sMS-500 and seems the best audio output out of this is in USB [and not Ethernet which is what I would like].

Anyone out here to make suggestions for Ethernet out to Devialet running Roon having uncompromised SQ ??
I don't want tons of small boxes like sMS-200ultra, sMS-500, Mutec MC-3+ USB, may be Mutec REF-10 and so on ...

I would be interested in this as well.

At least Innuos Zenith MkII SE got a nice review on digitalaudioreview.com. According to this review, the Zenith MkII SE (connected by USB) sounded better than AIR and better than Sonore ultraRendu. I think you can connect it to Devialet either by USB or Ethernet.

Then there is a bit similar product from Bryston:

I haven't auditioned these, so I have no idea how does these sound.

Sorry guys we are not on the same league. Innuos & Bryston are not a cheap solution and the topic is a multifunction device with Roon... Angel

True, those are not cheap but otherwise those should meet the requirements since they run Roon Server, they can be remote controlled from iPad/iPhone etc, they can feed Devialet via Ethernet, they can be used for ripping CD's, and they can be used to stream from Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal etc.

Considering the given budget, I would probably recommend an Intel NUC or similar.
