@baconbrain I will try both regular LAN and fiber as I have SFP modules and cable laying around.

If I only use one rj45 on the A-side I dont need to ground the eR and then the 12V from my HD Plex is floating if that makes any difference I will also try to ground it to see if that makes any difference.

Many options to try out Smile
Thanks, and reading again your original post it appears that my question was a bit redundant. Apologies for that.

Perhaps one additional slightly off topic question? How happy are you with your 200w HD Plex Psu? My old 100w version died the other day after 5 yrs of continuous delivery. Considering the money invested, I was pretty happy with it and may replace it with the 200w one.

Btw., a friend of mine listened to the Ansuz Switch last week and was pretty impressed ...
Well so far the HD Plex has worked flawless and does not get as hot as the old 200W so that is a plus @baconbrain

Well the Ansuz switch is also a parallell power conditioner so it affects much more than the LAN switch but it still looks like a ordinariy D-link to me on the inside pictures I have seen.

Dont get me wrong Ansuz makes great stuff but the prices have just gone bananas over time...

Isn't that true about any audiophile Ethernet switch, cable etc ?  If the Uptone EtherRegen can fulfill its promises (yet unheard), it could be a game changer?

Agree, but still I believe that really good electronic components, their design, and (tested) positive result in SQ, will ultimately cost money. Let’s face it, no company is producing components without wanting to make a profit. Of course, within a product class there are extremes and sometimes one can find the “diamond in the rough” which brings an exceptional value for the buck. Personally the Ansuz Powerswitch products are in a price class which exceeds what I would be willing to spend. Let’s see what the ER brings ...
@Snoopy8 I really hope the eR will be a great product and deliver what Uptone promises it will.

@baconbrain the Ansuz Power Switch is built to be a switch, powerconditioner and powersupply to their activ cables (D-TC and Supreme) so I can perhaps understand that the least expensive model cost €2000 but after that it is just crazy Smile

Ansuz prime market is in Asia and just face it they sell a lot of their Supreme products where a powercable cost €40000 (my dealer ordered one last week, yes he is a bit crazy).
Next week we will surprised by a well known manufacturer of digital hifi.

Model for 2000 Euro

Uptone Audio is very open about their costs and profit margins and these latter are anything but exorbitant, rather the opposite. Of course they do mainly sell ‘factory direct’ so also no dealer/distributor markups. Their two overseas dealers only get 15% and free shipping. But of course when a non audiophile 5 port switch can be bought for less than $20 the $640 etherregen is expensive in comparison.  Wink

@Elztalbiker, I think you meant to post a picture but it doesn’t display. It’s a nice teaser now though!  Big Grin

That is by far, the most difficult mental barrier to overcome. People have overcome the mental barriers over cables, power etc. and can accept them as important components in the music chain.

Not so Ethernet audiophile products, which are relatively new and expensive. People have to learn that is the EtherRegen is NOT "just a switch" and accept it as a music component. Currently, it is based on promises, easy to have doubts. Looking forward to reading the reviews of the early adopters, especially those who were previously sceptical.
A direct cable connection between streamer and DAC (with high quality cable) is not better than any router/switch (EtherRegen or not)?...
It is less expensive, for sure.
