Full Version: Airplay and Air drop out but Spotify doesn’t

I have been trying to stream to my Devialet 130 Expert Pro (running the latest beta DOS) from ipad, iPhone and PC laptop. I have found that when streaming via Airplay or Air, it drops out after 2-10 minutes. The Devialet still appears on my network (Fing scan) and shows when I try to connect via Airplay but does not connect and shows and error of ‘Airplay cannot connect to <My Devialet name>’. If I reboot the Devialet (full power off) it all works again but once more only for a few minutes.
If, however, I stream using Spotify Connect, it does not drop out.
Any thoughts as to where the problem is and how it can be addressed?
Thanks
DDU
What app are you using?
Are you using wifi or ethernet?

I must admit I've just streamed a full album at 24/96 using Airplay using the Qobuz player app on OSX and worked perfectly.

Having done the beta and followed the issues that arose, most related to the user's internet setup rather than faults with the Devialet.
I am using wifi streaming from Deezer via Airplay or albums from my music file on my PC via Air. These drop out but when steaming Spotify via Spotify Connect it does not drop out.
Once it drops out it will not reconnect and I get an error message saying that Airplay cannot connect to my Devialet. ONce it has dropped out, I also cannot connect via Spotify which also stops listing the Devialet in the available devices. My network scanner (Fing) however still reports the Devialet as being on the network.
Interestingly, Spotify dropped out tonight after 90 mins (still much better than Air or Airplay). The main issue is that I cannot reconnect without doing a hard reboot of the Devialet.
I experienced the same issue after upgraded to the latest version of firmware which released on 13/06/2018.

Airplay connection lost from time to time, quite often.
Sounds like they’re still not quite there with a fully QC’d firmware....
I have made the following observations which I think also support a firmware issue:

- Spotify Connect is more stable than Airplay but it still drops out and won’t reconnect and the Devialet is no longer visible as an option in Spotify Connect.
- When the Devialet drops out from Airplay (eg if I am streaming Deezer via Airplay), then the Devialet is no longer visible as an option in Spotify Connect.
- If I am streaming eg Deezer via Airplay from my iPhone, and the Devialet drops out, if I then try to reconnect Airplay, the dialog box initially just shows the iPhone (with a tick as the selected device) but then the Devialet appears as a selectable option however, if I try to select it I get the ‘trying to connect spinning wheel’ which spins for a short while then disappears and the selected tick reverts to the iPhone without ever having selected the Devialet and then shortly after a dialog box pops up saying the Airplay could not connect to the Devialet.
Mea culpa! I moved my router so that it was next to the Devialet and the issue appears to have resolved itself. So despite my network analyser saying I had a strong signal before the move, clearly it was not enough. Anyway, a happy ending.
Same issue, but my router (Huawei) is right next to my Devialet so I also think after 4 + years of having the air app they should get this corrected. Huh
