Hi, I have been searching the forum regarding this but all I find is threads about direct connect settings.

I have a Mac Mini running Audirvana connected to an Airport Extreme with ethernet cable. I have connected my Devialet with an cable ethernet also and I'm running Devialet Air on the Mac.

I have "told" Audirvana to use Devialet Air, set the Air software in OSX to use ethernet. Any suggestions on how to proceed or where I can find a walkthrough?

I have read that ethernet is supposed to sound better than USB and am eager to try it.

Cheers
Assuming the Ethernet cable that goes to the Devialet is also connected to the Airport Extreme it should work. Can you post screenshots of your settings?
Do you have the CI upgrade and are you using the latest Firmware?

If so, then I have the following problems (which are acknowledged by Devialet in the latest release notes) - that when using Audirvana+, AIR ethernet still drops out when playing tracks with different Bit/Sample rates. It's also the case that when changing Bit/Sample rates my Mac OS sound preference defaults from 'Devialet AIR' to "Internal Speakers" or to 'Devialet USB' if connected.

This is what I do - 1. On the AIR 3.0.4 pull down menu at the top of the screen select 'Disable AIR" then re-select 'AIR Ethernet.
2. I change 'Internal Speakers' to 'Devialet AIR' in the Sound Preferences menu in System Preferences (this is just to be tidy because AIR ethernet will still play despite the sound preference showing 'Internal Speakers'.)

After that everything plays properly. I have convinced myself that, in my system, AIR ethernet sounds better than USB. I don't use the AIR 'phone/iPAD app, as I am using a repurposed iMac,I think that there are threads elsewhere dealing with the app.
I'd suggest starting from the basics and working upwards. Do you know whether your Mac can reach the Devialet over your LAN (for example, can you run something like Fing or LanScan on the Mac and "see" the Devialet)? I guess so, otherwise you probably couldn't select the Devialet in AIR. Assuming that step is OK: does the AIR icon in the Mac's menu bar go black (and stay black), or is it grey?
I once used Air along with an Apple Extreme, quality ethernet cables, got this all going well apart from drop outs, these happened at any time.
Some days it wouldn't miss a beat with nothing altered, then the next i would have to stop playing music in this way and revert to good old compact disc.
I then got wondering, downloaded Kinsky and connected via usb cable and sound improved no end, i could play from the melco with no drop outs, the only problem was Kinsky. So i went and set up my Roon account on my laptop with the ipad calling the shots, but i had to have the laptop run all the time, so i invested in the Intel I7 NUC and set up Roon Rock, now pure bliss music pours out no trouble, between the NUC and the Devialet i tried an IFI usb 3 with there own usb cables, so far it hasn't been removed, it hasn't taken anything away from the music, just cleared the edges just like a quality lens on a dslr.

No, I don't have the CI upgrade but using the latest firmware for the 400 expert.

Yupp, the icon is black and stays black. Lanscan doesn't seem to recognize Devialet. Here's a screenshot:

OK, that sounds hopeful. In your LanScan output I can see an address for the Redpine Signals module which is the Devialet's Wi-Fi interface. I can't remember off the top of my head what the wired Ethernet should look like in LanScan - it might be the Hon Hai Precision entry - will check when I get home.

ETA: the Ethernet interface on my D440 Pro shows up as ICP Electronics, Inc. I also have a Hon Hai Precision entry which is for a Panasonic DVD player/recorder.

When you open the AIR menu do you see one or two entries to enable AIR? It looks to me like you should see at least one for the Wi-Fi interface, and possibly another for wired Ethernet.

Anyway, if you have a black AIR icon that means it should be connected to the Devialet over one of the interfaces. Normally that's enough for streaming to "just work" provided your playback software has selected Devialet AIR as the output device.

Hmm, when I disconnect the ethernet cable from the Dev400 Hon Hai still shows up in Lanscan so I guess it's not that one.
