No news from Devialet! The forum seems to become lethargic. No criticism, only an observation. Is this what we expect of a company that wants to make it right for their customers? Not to overpromis and underdeliver seem to stall activity here in the forum. Are we such satisfied or already in consternation or even worse jumping boat?

I would say so, yes.
I’ve been told Devialet will launch a new product by the end of October

No news is good news in my opinion. That means they're working on the new firmware version of the CI board rather than a half finished next 'latest and greatest'

For a small startup I would agree. But a company with around 100 people I hope not everyone works on the CI board firmware Cool . No activity on the Phantom side, no announcement or program on ‚live on Phantom‘ (abandoned?), no presence at fairs, no news about 3rd party developments..... The list of what could fill the news section but is not is quite long. I preferred the times of over promise and under deliver compared to no promise and no deliver.

I think you will find it's actually a company of over 500 people now.

And what the times of over promise and under deliver resulted in here was lots of complaints that we weren't getting what was promised. Since we're not in those times at present but you say that you preferred them, it seems you're essentially complaining that they aren't giving us anything to complain about.

Actually I think we do have some promises of software developments for the CI board—I'm hoping to see the promised Roon Ready RAAT update before the end of the year as promised—and they have been delivering on longstanding software update promises for the Expert Pro and on the CI board upgrade process, neither of which are minor operations, so I'd say we're currently in a time of steady delivery which is finally catching up with the tail end of the over promises of last year.

The fact that the forum seems to be lethargic could be taken as a positive sign indicating a reduction in complaints which is what you should expect from a company that wants to make it right for its customers after a time of over promise and under delivery.
And maybe we are now spending more time enjoying music than typing.

Good or bad is everyone’s appreciation  Angel

Personally, I find myself 100% content with my Expert Pros at the moment... no problems, no concerns, no annoying bugs that I wish would get fixed.   Admittedly, that has rarely happened in the last few years of my Devialet ownership, but I currently find myself blissfully content in listening to music.

Yet I, too, still return here routinely to see what new things may be going on with Devialet.   Admittedly, we just got past August where I suspect not a lot of anything occurred, but I suspect that will change soon enough.

I used to work for another French company, Michelin, which for many years would develop its own tire-making equipment, believing that home-grown manufacturing was the only way to achieve superior quality.  Over time, it leaned that quality could be maintained and costs could be dramatically reduced by moving to industry-standard machines and adapting those machines to the Michelin quality system.  So, what does this have to do with Devialet?  I think the company might be too insular, living in its own cocoon.  On the other hand, we are incredibly lucky that Devialet permitted Roon to fix the problems with AIR, so clearly they are willing at times to move out of their self-imposed ecosystem.  Yet I continue to think that the Roon initiative was more of a one-off, and that Devialet isn't much into third-party partnerships.  In addition, as we all know, the company has poor customer communications.  This reminds me again of Michelin, which for years was not willing to share any information until it was iron-clad perfect.  That would often lead to criticisms that the company was secretive.  In the end, Michelin became more transparent to its benefit.  I think Devialet could learn from the lessons learned at Michelin.
