Yes, interestingly enough the reviewer pointed out the noticeable issue with female voice sibilance, this is something that I’ve noticed with my 440 Pro.

I am getting fed up of my Devialet Pro. I also subscribe to the Naim forum and they have so much more to talk about than us. They have their Atoms, their 272s, 555s, NATs, Musos and Qubes and all of them throw up plenty of issues. My single Devialet Pro has just worked straight out of the box and is almost tweek proof.
Yes I have to agree, they are not for the compulsive box swappers are they, I have 2 and they are not leaving unless dragged out of my cold, dead hands.

I must say that my 440PRO has performed absolutely flawlessly ever since the DOS software was released no matter how hard I tried to break something in order to get a conversation starter on the forum.
I listen to as many hi-end systems as I can at friends and dealers and have not heard anything that I would rather want ......

When I have heard extra sibilance is when something in the chain is running in or when processing and amplifying the output of a cheap consumer SMPS powered device like a lot of network stuff.

Sibilance? probably the tweeters in the systems concerned.

Hi disarmamant - I've not heard of this sibilance in my system (when I had a 220pro ci and then 440) which was closer to your system configuration than most. in fact my system seems to get a disportionate amount of accolades for its rendering of both female and male voicing. Its possible I'm biased and not attentive enough to hear it in my own environment but will now be more sensitive to listening for it. Interesting article otherwise.
After listening inter alia to the voices of Nina Simone, Carol Carpenter, Evanescence, Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin, I can’t find any issue with sybilance in my system.
