I was kind of hoping Devialet RAAT was going to introduced with this version. Then again, I don't even know whether Roon needs to change anything for RAAT to work on a specific piece of equipment.

I don't think we'll see an update from Roon when the Devialet becomes Roon Ready. I've got 2 reasons for thinking that:

1-  Read Roon's account of what RAAT is and how it works in this link:  https://kb.roonlabs.com/RAAT

It looks to me that once Devialet release firmware with RAAT capability, Roon will recognise the Devialet as RAAT capable and everything will work. I don't think Roon has to change anything, I think the only change required is going to be the Devialet firmware.

2- back around May last year at Munich, Devialet showed an early prototype of their software running with RAAT active. It had to be running with whatever version of Roon was current back then and there's been several FW versions of Roon released since then. Devialet had to be testing their firmware with whatever version of Roon has been current during that period so if what they were working on could work with previous versions of Roon, why shouldn't it work with any version. Roon are probably working with a number of companies at the moment who are trying to get their products Roon Ready and it really wouldn't make much sense if they had to produce a new version of Roon to work with each new product some company wants to make Roon Ready and in any event, if they did that, Roon would be spending lots of time alpha and beta testing their own software and certification would be a nightmare because every time they identified a problem during the certification process they'd have to work out whether the  cause of the problem lay in Roon or in the software for the device under test.

My conclusion is that we aren't waiting to see something from Roon, we're just waiting to see Devialet release their firmware once it gets certified by Roon.

best news ever, wow!!!!
Now, only if quboz will invite me to the US beta, then I could join in the fun...

I just hope with all the time they are taking for the US rollout that it just works once it’s widely available.
Best news in times now using both Tidal and Qobuz very happy!

So the radio function in Roon v1.6 is similar to what is already available in the Tidal app itself (and in other services such as Spotify, Apple Music etc) just using Roon's own machine learning algorithm. At least that is the way I understand it.

I have an interesting finding. When the last song in my set playlist that I created by manually adding songs to the playlist finishes, Roon starts the radio function (based on the last song in the playlist). When listening over my headphones, the radio tracks play continuously. When doing the exact same but just streaming to my Devialet over wifi Air, the next track does not start automatically when the current track ends and I have to press the forward/skip button on Roon. It appears as if Roon then thinks that the current track is still playing as the radio function asks me why I want to skip that track (i.e. does not fit in the playlist/I don't like the track/don't want to hear the track now).

Can someone please test and see if they get the same issue?
