I have followed the fact that the Devialet remote app on I-devices works sometimes and not others. I also understand at some point in the future Devialet will make this work all the time (we’ll see).

Working sometimes and not others has been my experience too. For me the iPhone/ iPad app is very important - my Devialet 1000 is in a cabinet that I can’t see - and, most importantly, it is very helpful to know what the volume is. What I have found is that the remote app works for several weeks then stops working. My memory is if I unplug the Devialet and reboot it it works for a few weeks - I wil try this tomorrow.

If this is true - why is that?

And, does anyone else have any suggestions as to how to make the app work all the time?

Thanks Dan
Sorry, my iPad app has worked all the time since I installed a few months ago.
I remember in the past the members had problems if their amps were in an alcove, I know I did, but the problem went away after firmware upgrades. My iPhone and iPad apps are stable and never give me problems, so maybe your problem @Dan is caused by the amps being in a cupboard. You don’t say whether your amps have the Core upgrade, and I don’t know if this will make any difference (perhaps one of our more knowledgeable members could chip in here), but make sure you have the aerials attached to each amp, have one pointing up and the other pointing horizontally. If the aerials are able to pick up the signal from the remote, it may be worth investing in one of those remote types that consist of a screw on connector, a length of wire and a 3-4 inch aerial with a flat base.
I would contact Devialet. I have seen the app get flakey at times but I'd say less than 2 or 3 times over the last year. When I have seen it I shutdown the app and restart it. Never felt a need to shutdown the Devialet itself. I suspect the problem may be that it could too shielded in the cabinet. But that's just a guess.
Thanks to all - I'll try your suggestions. I do have the CI board and latest firmwares. Maybe I'll start by putting the phone right next to the Devialet.

I love my Devialet but have little faith in their ability to develop control software, be it for remote control of the beast itself or the imbecilic SD cards. In fact I have an open issue about all my missing configuration data in their Configurator files. Are you listening, Devialet, all configurations except the one on the SD card n’existe plus! Someone phoned me to say they were handling this personally mais je n’ai entendu rien encore. Using Roon to control the amp saves a lot of heartache as it powers it on and off as well as presenting and controlling your music. TBH, other than the on/off switch on the remote I don’t really know what the other buttons do - maybe if I had sone configuration files I could educate myself.
Bit of an update here. Earlier today I put the iPhone next to the Devialet and it worked - thought I was home free. Now 3 hours later it no longer works even if I put it right next to the Devialet. So I am confused.....have asked Devialet Support for help - let’s see what they say.
Mine works fine, including streaming music to my amp from my tunes library in my phone.
Which reminds me of something that amuses me every time I remember it.
I was at a demo day at Oxford Audio Consultants when Absolute Sounds still represented Devialet here.
The demo was set up with a D-Premier driving, iirc, Wilson Saschas with a quality streamer, perhaps Aurender, to play but Ricardo was demonstrating the app by playing a file from his iPhone when somebody walked in and said "there that shows how much better high res files are than CD"...

I don’t think the proximity of the iPhone to the Devialet has any bearing on the problem. As long as both devices are in the same wireless network or subnet the distance of the phone from the Devialet is not a factor.

BTW what model iPhone is it? The Devialet remote app has never worked on my iPhone 5s, but on an iPad Air it works faultlessly.

iPhone 5S user here. The app doesn’t connect to the Expert. It connects through the network. Mine works all the way down to Scott’s place, three doors down
