Hello,
I bought my first reactor back in december and the second one a week ago.
Is it physically possible that the oldest sound louder than the new one
I feel the bass kick is clearly louder in the older one.
I remember someone wrote once that because the speaker was new it didn’t open yet
Or something like that.
Should i worry that the new speaker has something wrong?
It might need some more time to break in.
You might wanna play some pink noise [found on the internet] while you're not at home to speed up the process.
But just playing normal music will do as well.
Yes @Juanbk , @Cylob is most likely right. If break in is needed for the new Reactor to sound identical to the one you bought earlier it is the final proof that break in is real. New components does not sound optimal straight from the box. Speakers in particular. Do you feel they sound very different or just a little?
I think breaking-in will help most speakers sound a little more coherent but imo there should not be a noticeable difference in loudness and/or bass-intensity between a new Reactor and one that has been in use for a few months. If I were you I would try to get it sorted out with your dealer or Devialet within the first 30 days they grant as "trial" anyway so they can't give you any hassle, since this might not be the most obvious defect.
Hi,

Here is a suggestion. I also noticed a difference between the new and the less-new one in terms of bass... The difference was not subtile at all. After an issue with configure Stereo, I switched the left/right reactors and the bass was still stronger on the same size ... ?

My conclusion was: the problem is the reactor location, not the reactor itself. Indeed, the one on the right was pretty close (1m from a corner).

@Juanbk You could try to switch the two reactors and see if you have a similar observation!
Thanks guys, let me check by switching left/right.
Ill try to change locations and see if there’s any difference

Ogs, it’s subtle, i ran a test for left/right speakers available on youtube, when doing this
I can’t feel too much a gap, but when playing music it gets more obvious
Then you should be able to figure it out by swapping the two speakers.

Ok, so i switched the speakers and the old one still feels louder
, i also noticed that the new one is not updated to the latest firmware
So tomorrow I’ll try to update and also Test them on a different location.
If the two are at different firmware revisions it may explain the difference.
