Hi,

I've just taken delivery of a new centre speaker (Kef Reference 4c) and have an Expert D200 which I am going to power it with. I've set the Expert 200 speaker configuration to mono but am getting slightly confused as to the connection from my AV Receiver. The Receiver has only one RCA output, but in the Devialet Configurator the Line in connectors appear to have to be enabled as L/R pairs. Firstly I assumed I could just plug the single RCA cable into either L or R on the D200 input but then started having doubts so thought I'd ask if anyone has done this and what the correct way is before I start randomly plugging stuff in?!  Huh

Thanks, Laura
If I’m not mistaking, when you configure a Devialet in mono (which in your case means a master), you select in the configurator which channel it is using. The default is left, but you can configure it to use the right channel instead. You can even mix both channels.

So if you did not change anything, your D200 is configured as a master using the left channel. (It is written in the speaker icône in the configurator). So I would be using the L part of your RCA cable.

PS, since you seem to be using your AV receiver as a preamplifier, you will certainly want to use your AV receiver as your main volume setting device, in which case I you recommend you to setup the line in that you are using to connect your AV to the D200 in pass through mode. That way, it is not affected by the volume setting of the Devialet. You can adjust in the configurator a fixed attenuation so that your central speaker and your main speakers have a matching SPL.
Hi @Jean-Marie,

Thanks for that, for some reason I wasn't really thinking of it in terms of being half a dual mono but that makes sense and I've configured it as 'Left' and plugged the RCA into the left channel and all is good. I originally had the speaker output configured as mono but on doing further testing it is clear that this setting is expecting to down mix left & right to mono and as you'd expect if you use this mode with only one side connected the output is noticeably lower.

I have set up pass through for the line in too and now all is controlled by the AV Receiver volume control.

Thanks for your help in clearing the technical fog!
