Devialet Chat

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what is the latest on this.

I have a Phantom Gold and quite shocked to discover a) it is limited to CD quality/Airplay quality, and b) I can't group it with any of my other rooms/systems in Roon because it's not 'Roon RAAT ready'. 

I've seen posts from years ago saying this was just around the corner, and coming soon etc., but as far as I can tell, nothing has happened.

Can someone confirm the current position please?

Hey Mark,

Airplay is not that bad, it's CD quality in the end, sounds really good with my two Golds. If your other Roon zones support it you could switch those over to Airplay as well until RAAT is implemented on the Phantoms.

That being said, chatter is Airplay 2 is next, which is understandable given the size of the installed user base. Roon RAAT should come after that. I don't have any insight into Devialet development but my guess would be Airplay 2 early next year with RAAT coming in Summer. The new OS architecture should make it easier to implement new protocols so I won't rule out earlier releases.

Hello Mark, welcome to the Forum.

We simply do not know when. Currently, the Phantom Premier range is going through an upgrade be from DOS1 to DOS2 with the focus on stability followed by things like multi room, equalizer etc.

Devialet have their hands full with DOS2. So no RAAT for a while yet...
