Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone experience this....I use my PC has my HTPC (Plex, Roon, etc) directly connected to my Phantom Gold's via Toslink cable. I decided to upgrade the PC with a new EVGA NU Sound Card to improve the sound quality(it sounds amazing so far) from my standard PC sound card...since then after a few seconds of no sound the Gold's lose the connection and think there's no Toslink cable connected to them (this never happened before with the old motherboard sound card)...if I try to Select/Play in the App it just says there's no cable connected...the only way to fix this is to reboot the speakers or if I use Roon it seems it comes back to live, but if I play a Plex movie or something, no sound.... it's pretty obvious this is related to the new sound card, but just wondering if anyone had to deal with this similar situation with any different gear and what might be the solution...? Drivers (Asio vs Wasapi)? White noise? Any help would much appreciated.... cheers.

Hi, might take a look at the output sample rate on the new card?

Dialog only supports up to 96k.  Going over will lock it up.  Direct to the speakers as i recall has support for a bit higher 192k? maybe higher i forget since i use the dialog.

Thank you Scott for the advice, but I just gave up on the sound card and return it. It was all too hard, the drivers support was pretty bad and nothing worked as it should...

Interesting your comments regarding the Dialog (luckily I also gave up on it ?), but I didn't know itwit pick at 96k....I've been working on a solution that I Know it will feed 192k to the Phantom Gold....
I’ve recently discovered that if you’re using the “tree” stands from Devialet for your Golds, then you might want to re-cable the entire optical run from the speaker. My tree stands included an extension cable from the speaker to the base of the stand. I was unable to get more than 96k to that speaker until I removed the extension cable and just wired a single cable to the speaker.
That's just crazy... sometimes I'm really scared about my decision to go the Devialet root, all is so random with these company, fantastic sound/speakers/concept, but really bad customer service, really bad software development, no product direction, a product that cannot be fixed, that issue with the cable!! These are very expensive toys, but they are always cutting corners, etc....you really never know if these guys one day will just go under and we end up with these very expensive "eggs" in our living rooms that we can't use anymore.... ?
