Full Version: New Remote Issues

I’m in the midst of a back and forth with Devialet concerning the new remote. I never had issues with the old remote connecting. I was intrigued by the thought of track and play controls and took delivery last week. The darn thing won’t stay connected though, and pairing it is a hit and miss affair when it does lose its connection (currently I can’t get it connected, and can’t be bothered resetting the speakers so it will connect again for what seems like a very brief episode).

This is with a phantom classic pair on DOS2 with a Dialog adding airplay capabilities.

Anyone else running one of these yet? Any issues?
I have the same problems. Gold Phantoms without the dialog. Interested to hear if you and Devialet can resolve the problem.
No issues from my side. Tried to pair it to Golds and Reactors and always worked and connected fast and correctly.
Bluetooth is up to 20m but as I change room the connectivity might be lost (due to walls). Let’s say you’re not supposed to walk around the house with the remote. Apart from that, working perfectly at today.

As I turn on Premiers or Reactors, it is enough to rotate the metal ring, the display shows the connectivity icon and after 2-3 secs it is connected again with the last speaker I made the last BT pairing. My main use is for controlling volume of one Reactor as I watch Tv, so I do not change often the pairing but I played around a bit the first two days I had received the new toy.

Not tried on my Classic yet. All speakers are on DOS2 latest version, and no dialog for me.

I took possession of my remote today.  Was looking forward to using it but I was a holdout on updating to DOS 2 which appears to be a requirement for using the remote which I was not tracking.  My original thought was not to upgrade unless there was a discernible improvement in sound and reliability or my Dialogue died. So the question is, should I take the DOS2 plunge?  Given the current issues, I am inclined to wait but I am open minded.  Thoughts?
Nope, discernible improvement in sound not noted from my side but I stopped with critical listening; so I might not be the one to hear.

Reliability not changed. I rarely have problems but my connections are pretty easy (no Ethernet, no UPNP, only streaming via WiFi and throughout digital cable Tv-Reactor when watching Tv). Sometimes one Premier is not showing up as I turn on my pair of Golds and I need to turn it off/on again or simply disconnect the power cable. Then it is alive and paired again. So the new software is not improving some reliability issues that still appear here and there like in the past at least for me. Not disturbing so much because eventually rare in my case.

Thoughts? By the time you spent money on the new remote and if you want to use it, you’ll be forced to move to DOS 2 and the latest upgrade sooner or later. The new remote is anyway good stuff because of the responsiveness, shape, display and metal ring stiffness. Probably the previous one was connecting via radio frequency and the delay was very annoying for me.
Hello just got in hands new remote and its seams like it doesn’t work with back or forward next track on UPNP while playing through Audirvana on Mac mini?

I received the new remote on September 30th and I must say that I’m disappointed. I was looking forward to a more functional remote but several issues have made this product a big let down for me:

- the numbers on the display keep jumping when adjusting the volume
- volume isn’t adjusted continuously when using the dial
- turning of the volume dial isn’t smooth at all
- the two black parts on the sides of the top cover aren’t aligned properly
- Micro USB (why not Type C?) cable was stained out of the box

I've requested a refund from Devialet the same day and am still waiting for return instructions lol. Gonna open a PayPal case or get in touch with my CC issuer soon if they don't get back to me til Friday.

You and my wife are on same page.  Ended up taking the plunge and upgrading to DOS2.  The upgrade was not without issues, but nothing which I wasn’t able to resolve with some patience.  Most of the issues were self inflected.

To key advantage to the remote, in my opinion, is that it is simply more convenient to have on hand. I don’t have back out of an app to get into the Devialet app to adjust volume.  I guess I could accomplish the same thing with an old unused cellphone, but I like the tactile responsiveness of the remote which most modern technology fails to capture.  Overall, so long as it proves reliable and the musical experience remains positive, I think I will remain happy with the purchase.

I think you had a faulty one. The dial is very smooth for me and the numbers move up and down without jumping.
