I did a firmware update to the latest version last week (Oct 2020) and the Devialet started update the process but did not seem to complete. After that, it would not boot. Nothing on the display at all.

I tried no SD card, off at the wall, wait, then plugin and press front button for 7 seconds. Nothing. Changed the cable.

I can see there is power to the unit as when I look underneath I can see LEDs inside. Three lit up and one blinking.

Any ideas anybody??

have contacted Devialet and set pics etc.     or is it back to Paris for a fix.

Thanks   J
1. Pull the power plug out of the wall completely.

2. Try downloading the firmware again. Use this method to re-install: https://devialetchat.com/Thread-How-to-c...l-s-method

Should work. There's no history of anyone actually bricking an Expert as far as I know.

Good luck. Let us know how you go.

BTW, welcome to the forum. We're here to help Wink
Hate to say it, but if something failed during the update then it is probably bricked. I had one fail one time (for a different reason) and it went back to Paris to be replaced by a brand-new one. To echo Pim - I would leave it unplugged for an hour or so, and then see what happens when you power it up again. That's about all you can do.

Good luck
Thanks for your tips.

I left it a day unplugged. Then a day plugged. New firmware.
Phoned Paris and had great customer service BTW. They said they'd never seen the behaviour before and they wanted to look at it.

It shipped yesterday back to Paris yesterday.

FYI – as an update – my broken 220 Pro Ci is still in France being fixed (2.5 months since it broke) with no timeline for a return. (I bought the unit second hand a year ago). So having been told they'd definitely honour the warrantee (they paid for the courier), now I seem to be getting grey answers like... 'we can't give me an ETA', 'where was it originally bought' (I know). Does anyone have experience of this? Will it ever come back? I'm now in the market for a new one so if it does return I'll have a 440.

Thanks

2.5 months is really surprising. Devialet are usually quite good at fixing stuff. The 220 Pro hasn't been around for 5 years yet so it shouldn't make any difference where or when you bought it; the warranty stays valid. Unless you bought it from someone who stole it, I can't see why Devialet wouldn't fix it ASAP.

Keep harassing them.
Thanks Tim for the encouragement.
Yes, do keep harassing them. When I undertook my upgrade, it took two months. I was impatient after month 1 and called constantly and at one point also ended up with someone one the line who turned out to be a janitor. Desolé, monseiur. I got mine back after 2.5 months. Reliable if slow.

Two months ?? Help !  Angry

I sent my D200 to upgrade to D220 and they wrote me 20 working days, do I have to worry?
I sent mine two weeks ago and Devialet promised me to have the upgraded unit back for Christmas. Probably not then...
