I've decided to buy a pair of Reactor 600 as soon as RAAT is available. Provided that RAAT supports up to 24/192 that is.
I used a pair of modified Monitor Audio 201's for many years. The speakers sounded close to unlistenable 'au naturel', but with modifications, Audiolense XO filters in Roon's convolver and some parametric eq in the deep bass the sound quality was totally transformed. I was able to get a SAM profile for the speaker and was rewarded with even better sound quality. The resulting sound quality was quite stunning!
My hope is that I can 'transform' Reactors with the help of Audiolense to perform better. I am not expecting the same miracle I got with the MAs, but then the Reactor is a better speaker to begin with. I would probably get better result with a pair of Classic Premiers (or Golds), but the price difference is too big for my budget at the moment.
The chain will be Roon->EtherRegen (B->A)->Reactors. I'll report back on my journey.

If you compare the Golds side by side with the Reactors, you can hear a difference. But listened on their own, the Reactors will beat or match many high end systems that I have heard. And Audiolense will improve things further.

I agree the Reactors are value for money.

That would be my suggestion on how to use the ER. You can also compare A->B and use PLC.

Good idea. I'm a bit sceptical about PLC sending a lot of noise to other outlets, but I will certainly try. Maybe I have to consider an AC filter to isolate PLC from the rest of the house...

I was surprised how quiet PLC was when I tried it. The only filter that I used was a DC Blocker.
I have been using PLC for more than 5 years and I’m yet to experience the noise that some people refer to.
@Snoopy8 , @Jean-Marie PLC really is promising if there is little noise injected into mains. I'll definitely try it Smile
As I understand it, PLC is used to transfer data. As such it is not an analogue channel, but a network extension. If packets in a network fail, they are discarded. I'm not sure how this could introduce audible noise.
Not noise in the device using PLC, but noise for other devices getting AC from the same circuit that PLC is using for transmission. If packets are dropped in the network transmission over PLC it would turn up as clicks in the audio playback. Not very likely as I guess re-transmission will take place

You really don't need to boost the deep bass of the reactor 600. It is there (see the frequency response in my other post below).  If placed not too close to the wall, and high enough on a stand or a shelf, they have a linear frequency response curve. The SAM technology is built in the reactors already, no need to boost any part of the frequency spectrum in my opinion.
Hi @eniriop, thanks! I do not plan to use boost anywhere. I'm actually hoping there is "too much" in the bass so I can reduce a little and gain headroom.
