Hello!
Just wondering if there is a sound quality difference between wired and wireless Upnp, and also how can i
Connect my macbookpro to the phantoms via wired Upnp? How’s the process? I use Audirvana
Found wired to be better than wireless.

You need to connect both your MacBook and Phantoms to your router using Ethernet cables. Then set up Phantoms as a stereo pair using phone app, enable UPnP.

On Audirvana, enable UPnP and select Phantoms as your renderer or player.
Thank you, looks pretty straightforward, just need to buy a ethernet dongle for the macbook!

Or you can connect the Macbook with an optical cable to one of the phantoms and connect one ethernet cable to both phantoms (one phantom at each end of the cable). UPNP can be laggy if the wifi is not clean or strong enough, especially when playing Hires files. In Audirvana you then have to select internal audio output. You need to use an optical cable with an adapter to fit the small headset stereo plug on the Macbook.
This set up has been perfect for me both for phantoms I and phantoms II in stereo. Audirvana is the way to go for real HIFI music playing or streaming (includes your Qobuz or Tidal files).
But i think macbooks after 2016 don’t have the optical anymore included in the headphone connector
Sorry, is it really possible, that there’s a difference? If the WLAN is stable enough and you’ve no interruptions I can’t imagine that there’s a difference. But the WLAN more often has Problems, that’s for sure 😃

If digital music is all about 1's and 0's, then there will be no difference between wifi and ethernet cabling.  However, the adaptors are different, and changing cables & switches can affect the sound.  Noise can be introduced by power supplies and different clocks in the music chain.  Hence, there is a difference in SQ.
No difference in Audio quality and for some streamers i would even recommend Wifi over fixed Ethernet (Raspberry Pi 2/3). If you get stutter in your stream, you know you need to improve your wifi, but there is NO decrease in audio quality. This more a bandwidth issue that can most likely be resolved easily. If you look at current trends, most manufacturers will offer Wifi based receivers, amps, streamers etc.this is because todays wifi standards are pretty decent. Interference most likey happen on a different layer (eg Jitter on SPDIF or electrical noise introduced by cheap wall power supplies).
When streaming 24/96 files wireless from Qobuz with Audirvana and UPNP on the Macbook, the music would pause 2 to 3 seconds every now and then. But after hooking up the optical cable from the macbook to one Phantom, it plays perfectly every time. All CD quality files play without problem on wireless UPNP. But I have a 2015 Macbook. The newer ones have no optical connection in the headphone plug apparently,
I own Audirvana but have been using Roon/RAAT lately. I find it’s less prone to hiccups stutters in the streaming. I know that’s not super helpful, but thought I’d mention it as a fellow Mac user.
