Hi - long time Phantom user just got a mirror polished D-Premier! Smile Wow I’m impressed so far - insanely good for the used price I paid! Especially the bass is so present but well controlled

I can’t seem to load any config changes though? Just trying to change the buttons to tone/balance and mute.

It’s a new 16gb card formatted newly formatted to FAt32

Is that possible on the original D-Premier - it’s a pretty low serial number but I saw an early stereophile review talking about it....

I just get the bad config message. The only thing I see different to the instructions is I have to right click and “save link as” instead of “save target as” ..... but I end up with a correctly named txt file on the SD card with nothing else on there

Any ideas? Smile

Also has anyone ever had issues with their remote where the wheel just comes off really easily (if I just turn it upside down! And when I turn it rubs on the material inside.

Waiting to hear back from Devialet on the remote but not asked them about config issues yet

Thanks all!

It might be that the capacity of the card is too great. Older gear - my NAS, for instance - struggles with capacities over 4GB. The config file size is trivial, as you will have noticed. I think that my 1000 Pro came with 2GB cards.
Just uploaded FW 10.1 and it seems ok now

Any benefit to me trying the newer expert pro firmware or not? (Mine not upgraded to pro)
The pro firmware won't work with the D-P. 10.1 is the highest.

The knob on my D-Premier remote could be lifted off (practical for cleaning) but it was never as loose as yours. After one of the upgrade trips to Paris the knob was glued to the shaft so I could no longer remove it. There should be a thin felt gasket under the knob for it to 'ride' on. If this felt is missing I can imagine you'll notice rubbing.
Ok thanks!
That’s 3 things Devialet support got wrong Smile

1) The knob should never be able to be removed apart from by dismantling from inside

2) it should run it should be floating on air! I did wonder why there would be felt in that case. A bit disappointing for a 12k amp remote wheel to not be floating like the Phantom remote

3) Impossible to adjust balance on the fly without adjusting channel volume in the configurator!

Very pleased to find point 3) isn’t true as I bought thinking I’d have no balance or tone control. BONUS Smile Smile
I guess the knob was supposed not to touch the felt, but mine did. Movement was always very smooth. Also I seem to remember that the knob was fixed to the shaft in the beginning but I was able to lift it off after some time (this was back in 2012-13...).
Yeah I think maybe there is some little piece missing to stop it slipping down so far.
I can lift it up slightly and it holds with friction
But doesn’t take much for it to slip back down again - and it definitely should fall off completely when upside down with the lightest of shakes Smile
Bit of electrical tape around the spindle problem solved Smile

Doesn’t drop down all the way and takes a good amount of force to pull it off

Good old high tech “sticky plaster method”! Smile

EDIT - that started catching inside even worse than before!

Removed it and it seems to now stay in place a bit firmer but still drops all the way down to the felt if not careful
Maybe put a piece of something on top of the shaft to keep the knob from slipping too far down if the catching is on the bottom?
Yeah it’s an idea - but won’t solve the looseness of it falling off if tipped upside down

Just tried some masking tape will see if that works Smile
