...I wonder if anyone here has come across this before.

Connection :
Mac mini + Intona USB Isolator + Expert Pro 250

When my Expert Pro wakes from sleep, it is not seen by my source (Mac mini + Intona USB Isolator).
When I connect the amp with my mac directly (no isolator) there is no problem.
The only way to fix this is to unplug / replug the isolator. (which is a bit of a pain).

I have contacted the company that makes the isolator, and after running some tests they suggested that it's most probably the USB interface of the amp not handling sleep mode in a USB compliant way, as the isolator seems to work fine with other devices (eg USB discs), when the mac returns from sleep.
Long time since I had my 250 now, but I think there is a USB INIT setting on the USB port in configurator. Should be active.
USB init, option didn't solve the problem Undecided
Connection between mac mini and Devialet Expert 250 is still lost, after Devialet restarts from sleep. Removing and reinserting the USB cable on the intona device, restarts the connection.

The intona has so far been a definitive *must* addition to the signal chain, as it removes a clearly audible harshness in the sound.
I wonder if I should try the IFI Galvanic USB. Seems to be doing the same things as the intona.
Maybe others here have current experience with IFI Galvanic integration with the Expert...
What if you switch from USB to another input and back to USB? I think the USB INIT was meant to re-do handshake when one switched to it. Should be more or less similar to removing and reinserting the USB cable.
yes I tried switching source but no luck.
FWIW I also run USB Prober (an Apple app), while awaking the Devialet, and this is what it said

27.712 [1] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 2 of Hub at 0x6000000)
30.227 [1] AppleUSBHubPort::FatalError - Port 2 of Hub at 0x6000000 reported error 0xe00002c7 while doing clearing port power feature
30.227 [1] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate the device (Port 2 of Hub at 0x6000000).

I used to have an Intona when I used a USB connection to the amp. I never had any problems, although this was a few years ago and I was running an earlier Devialet firmware version. You say that there’s no problem with the USB direct to the amp so perhaps this points to a faulty Intona?
Do you prefer USB to Ethernet for your connection between Mac and Devialet?
Ah, I see. Must be something funny going on in the USB chipset of your 250 then. I actually never tried the USB input of the CI board. My experience relates to the old USB input. The new USB input on the CI should work the same though. Did you contact Devialet about this? The error log from USB Prober is very clear on what happens...

EDIT: you say that removing and reinserting the USB cable helps. This indicates that the USB chipset needs to loose the 5V on the cable temporarily to enumerate again. The USB chipset in the 250 (XMOS) doesn't use bus power, but needs the 5V present to trigger enumeration. Devialet may need to look at the USB INIT code.
Mac to Devialet : USB or Ethernet
I prefer USB as I don't use Ethernet on the Dev at all. I only have 2 sources (Mac and CD player), so to keep things I only enable USB & RCA digital on the Dev.
Besides this issue, the Intona really works, as it definitely removes a very subtle (but recognisable) layer of harshness on the mid-upper frequencies.

"Devialet may need to look at the USB INIT code"
Yes, this is what the Intona support suggested. But when I contacted Devialet they didn't seem willing to look at this issue Undecided

BTW, I currently have a iFi iGalvanic 3 at home, but it doesn't seem to work with the Dev at all.
Tried the various ifi settings, tried 3 macs (usb 2, 3, and c), and various lengths USB cables and when it works it starts dropping within a few minutes.
So I'll stick with the Intona for now ....
