The difference to the old finish is very small, yes

If it hasn't been mentioned yet then it's also worth noting that the older chrome D-Premier/250 with the white remote are a light chrome finish in colour and the newer 250s with the black remote are dark chrome. The difference is subtle until you put them together then it's really noticeable. Not a problem until you are looking for a second unit to make an 800/1000Pro

My D 250 Pro is a gloss white, as is the remote.  The chassis and remote seem heavier than the chrome chassis. 

The gloss white paint is holding up remarkably well.  Still  looks new.  Will have a difficult time finding a second white chassis for upgrade.
