Expert Pro’s powerful DSP makes AXD® the only technology advanced enough to reap the full potential of the world’s most sophisticated speaker models. Designed to keep the path from source to speaker to a absolute minimum, AXD® demands bespoke speaker profiling in close collaboration with speaker manufacturers. Their seal of approval guarantees immaculate playback, every step of the way.

Expert Pro Active X-over Design Technology

What is AXD®? At Devialet, we were the first to develop an exclusive technology capable of adapting our amplifier performance to the characteristics of the loudspeaker it is connected to, in real time and without additional hardware. This technology is called SAM® (Speaker Active Matching) and is based on a mathematical model deducted from measurements made on each loudspeaker, so Expert Pro can tailor the sound signal to fit their precise requirements. For the first time, SAM® made it possible to achieve perfect temporal alignment between the recorded signal and acoustic pressure from your loudspeakers.

Today, more than 1143 speaker models are SAM®-ready but we wanted to push the technology further and offer a solution to the most demanding audiophiles, capable of maximizing the performance of ultra high-end loudspeakers. That is why we partnered with some of the world’s leading speaker manufacturers, to design the shortest analogue signal path between an audio source and speaker drivers while limiting analogue sections to a minimum. The result of this quest for perfection is AXD®, the ultimate conduit between Expert Pro and some of the finest loudspeakers
It’s been around for a number of years now. It’s basically using the DSP in the Experts as a crossover. The advantage is that anything can be adjusted. That includes perfect time alignment and phase. Theoretically it’s the best way to make a crossover.
Ok thanks - the way they updated it implied something new, perhaps not the case…..
Nope. Very old. Whitepaper is from 2018.

The expression "something new for Expert" almost makes me laugh... In reality, it makes me very sad...
Is it available as a configuration? My fear would be not getting the config right then exposing tweeters to full frequency range but in theory it sounds beautiful
Yes, it’s in the advanced settings on the config tool

This is actually something that needs to be done by Devialet in conjunction with the speaker manufacturer.

Yes, but you can get the configs from the speaker manufacturers which support the AXD config. I just got them from Kudos for my 707's with the 440 CI and it works really very well. Adding new speakers would of course need the manufacturers input.
