I hope somebody can help me out with this. I got a Panasonic UB9004 connected with optical to my Phantoms. The sound is awfull and i can’t get it right. It sounds like stuttering, a sort of trembeling, especially with music. Voices are clear and fine. No delay.
I tried several optical cables, first a cheapie, now an audioquest cable. I went through all the settings in the pana player. Set it on PCM, output on 96kHz.
I just can’t get it right so far. Anybody an idea that will help me out?
The Phontoms downsample everything to 48kHz to process anyway, so try setting PCM max to 48kHz. TOSLINK was designed with 48k max, but lots of components can do higher res these days. The Panasonic might be limited, as might the cable (which seems unlikely since you’ve changed it)
Thanks for the reply, Diamar, setting it to 48kHz did not make any difference :-(
Have you tried another source with optical output? The mandatory factory reset should be performed too.
I’m gonna try direct from the T.V. tomorrow. I’ll let you know!
