Hi
I have a 10 yr old Devialet 250 (see signature for set up). I leave it on all the time as I find it sounds better that way than having it off or in stand by.
It's usually warm to the touch, but the past month or so it's very hot all the time (probably about 60C as it's uncomfortable to leave a hand on it).
previously it would get hot like this when listening loud to music for a while but not when just switched on....
Any ideas? A bit concerning. Sound seems OK.
Tx
Brendan
What are the temperature values displayed by Devialet (amplifiers and power source) in the past and in the present?

Hi Brendan,
I too leave my 440-Pro Always ON and toggling thru the display, the Class-A & Class-D amps are about 33C whilst the Power Supply is around 36C. It warms up a bit more by 2-3C during usage and I run my amps pretty hard @ -12dB to -8dB on the volume display. But never warmer than 42C for either A, D pr PSU.

There's definitely a problem that has developed with your 250 but before we arrive at any conclusion, and as Daniel also mentioned, it would be good to get inputs from you by toggling the display to get the readings of
- Class A amp temp
- Class D amp temp
- Power Supply temp

Also, what would be the ambient temp in your room ?

- Arup
Thanks Arup and Daniel,
Not sure how to do that. I go to the menu settings by a long press on tone and flick through with short presses and it never shows me temperatures. The final screen is a summary of the SAM/SUB settings etc.

1. LONG press on TONE will get you into the details screen.
2. Multiple SHORT presses will start the toggling of the screens. Keep toggling with SHORT presses and get it to Temperatures.
3. SHORT press on POWER will bring screen back to Volume & Source setting.

I must have set mine up differently as when I do the short presses I never gt to temperatures. Just the balance, tone, sam etc then a screen with a summary of various settings and round back to balance....

First press needs to be long.

Please Press the TONE Button for a good 3 seconds and that means LONG. It will get you into the Detailed Menu screens. Thereafter, SHORT presses using Source Button will flip the screens.
Did you possible turn Dynamic Power Management (DPM) off recently? I believe that would result in high temperatures as well. DPM doses the power delivered to the power needed. If it is idle it won't draw much power.

OK it's the RIGHT button.
all three heat sources are currently running 43 which is OK.
I'll keep an eye on it.
