I've had YG Acoustics on my radar for a long time, but unfortunately I have not had a chance to listen to any of their models. And the prices range is way above what I can afford at the moment. But take a look at the measurements Devialet presents for the Hailey! The response is just as good before and after correction! The only other speakers with SAM profiling approaching this are some of the the Magico models. This suggests that SAM is mainly doing a time correction for the high pass behaviour in the deep bass. I think Hailey 1.2 would be really something with Devialet amps. I also hope Devialet will make a SAM profile for the new Carmel.
It us amazing to see manufacturers promoting their speakers as SAM certified. It reminds me of the early days of the "Intel inside" branding.

Nevertheless, YG is indeed on my reader screen as well.

Did this speaker ever appear on the "SAM soon" list? I didn't see it.

Makes you wonder what else is due to be SAMd?
I have heard the Hailey's in two different audio show environments and have been truly impressed both times. Remarkably coherent and high resolution. You wouldn't think a speaker this size could deliver on both the top and bottom end so well. I also find them to be less visually imposing than many of their competitors, such as the Wilson Alexia. Certainly on my short list of speakers to consider in the future.

+1 these do look very interesting indeed. Will try and check them out at Munich.

I am planning to loan my 200 to a friend who owns Carmel. I am very much interested to see how the combination will be.

Same for me. YG or Magico's may be my next upgrade.

I have listened to those speakers one time already carefully and I was waiting the SAM as I really think it makes sense to buy a SAM compatible speaker. I was told the SAM would not improve so much the sound and when you look at the graphs it was kind of true! I think these speakers not only sound fantastic but their look/design/shape are beautiful... It is not only about the sound anymore but the object itself. I guess that is why they are so expensive too.
I am looking forward to listening the Carmel 2 in Munich. (new release, half the price but not Sam yet..)

I had a pair of YG Acoustics Kipods with passive bass modules for 3-4 years, up until 2 years ago when I retired, down-sized and moved. The Hailey is what replaced the Kipods and looks almost identcal. To the layperson they'd be virtually indistinguishable from each other tho there are MAJOR differences and new enhancements. The most heart-breaking component I've ever had to get rid of. Far & away the most impressive & realistic speaker I've ever owned or heard in my home. Their shop is just 12 miles from me and I've been there a couple times. Their operation close-tolerance wise is 2nd to none! Truly a class act and everyone there from Yoav down is great to deal with. Truly, my saddest ever audio component sale! Now everything I audition speaker-wise falls short. If you buy them keep em for life as nothing will sound as good again ;-)
