At least they should offer the chance to upgrade from 250 to 1000pro (buying a companion) at a very good price. And not I am not talking 15% discount here.... One more time being the operative words here I believe. Once there's a stable (And that's to be seen) streaming facility in the Pro, I don't see any way an upgrade would make the product more interesting. Then again, it is Devialet and they have come up with some out there stuff. Upgrade details - nicoludio - 09-Jul-2016 As of now, the lineup will be 130 / 220 / 440 / 1000 Pro (no idea about the existing 250). Using the 120 to upgrade to 220 Pro would be more cost effective. 120 / 200 upgrade cost to 220 Pro would be the same but obviously the cost of 120 would be lower. RE: Upgrade details - Antoine - 09-Jul-2016 So D200 owners paid €2000 more compared to the D120 and both can be upgraded to the same model for the same price. I'm sure this'll please the owners of their most popular D200 model. Devialet logic...you gotta love it..LOL RE: Upgrade details - Pim - 09-Jul-2016 (09-Jul-2016, 12:26)Antoine Wrote: So D200 owners paid €2000 more compared to the D120 and both can be upgraded to the same model for the same price. That would make sense....and therefore probably won't happen. Devialet logic...you gotta love it..LOL Thus far we've seen about three people having heard the upgrade cost will be the same for both the 120 and 200 to this 'new' 220Pro model or whatever Apple like name (Plus, Pro, +) they're giving it. (about €3500) RE: Upgrade details - Pim - 09-Jul-2016 (09-Jul-2016, 12:45)Antoine Wrote:(09-Jul-2016, 12:35)Pim van Vliet Wrote:(09-Jul-2016, 12:26)Antoine Wrote: So D200 owners paid €2000 more compared to the D120 and both can be upgraded to the same model for the same price. That's A$ 11170 at today's exchange rate. That's more than what I paid for it. That streamer would have to be some terrific kind of kit for me to want to upgrade to that, just for a bedroom system. RE: Upgrade details - Antoine - 09-Jul-2016 A streamer product requires top notch software for a good user experience so I wouldn't wait for Devialet to release one. Not if they make it themselves anyway. Upgrade details - nicoludio - 09-Jul-2016 Otoh, imagine if you were a 120 owner who paid the same price and "only" got a 130 Pro. Doubt that many will upgrade. Which again proves the point they're looking at this from a sales point of view only. Just looking at a wattage point of view BTW, I'm wondering how many people realize that to have a 3dB power output increase (which only equates to a x1.41 SPL increase) you'd need double the power (wattage). So a 10W or 40W power increase on top is insignificant. For the 800/1000 it's worse. At least the 800 still only has a 600W SMPS PSU inside so these 800/1000W figures are false or short term at best. The 4000W peak power figures they're boasting are even shorter term. It's all marketing BS. |
