Dolby Atmos - Bobbybina - 19-Jun-2021 Stream using a newer iPhone or iPad model. Use Airplay 2, not Bluetooth. Use no other hardware in between. See if you hear a difference. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk RE: Dolby Atmos - njaiswal - 20-Jun-2021 So I tried it again last night. And I did hear a difference this time. Not sure what I did differently. I used the AppleTV again. For the most part I was pleasantly surprised. There were some songs that I felt sounded harsher than their 2 channel versions. RE: Dolby Atmos - rendude - 25-Aug-2021 Spatial audio on airpod max sound amazing on the new Apple TVos15. I really hope Devialet allows the option to switch on spatial audio so it can sound more theater-like than the headphones RE: Dolby Atmos - eniriop - 25-Aug-2021 (17-Jun-2021, 01:03)njaiswal Wrote: After reading this thread I tried spatial audio today in my family room. I have a JBL SDP-55 that can decode Atmos, an appletv, and a 5.5 phantom setup. I didn't hear a difference... Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Yes, you are doing something wrong: you have too many phantoms !

These are the most recent Phantoms. I can confirm that Apple’s Spatial Audio in these when streamed in AirPlay 2 sounds incredible. When comparing the same track in regular stereo (which still sound great) to Spatial Audio, there is a distinct increase in audio quality. Try it yourselves. You must stream with Airplay 2, not via Bluetooth. Three years later, I am updating this old thread for those who are interested in enjoying a Dolby Atmos experience with a set of Phantoms, with no subwoffer needed. It is possible now, mixing several Phantom I and II speakers in a combination of 5, 7 or 9 speakers, named from Devialet as Phantom Theater 5, 7 and 9. Devialet confirms that the system is Dobly-compliant. This is the way how you can achieve it: Phantom Theater 5 https://www.devialet.com/en-ch/professionals/phantom-theater-five/ Phantom Theater 7 https://www.devialet.com/en-ch/professionals/phantom-theater-seven/ Phantom Theater 9 https://www.devialet.com/en-ch/professionals/phantom-theater-nine/ RE: Dolby Atmos - booshtukka - 14-Sep-2024 Does anyone know what processor they’re using? |
