I toe in the G1's so they cross about a foot in front of my face. It's what vivid recommend .. tried straight ahead and a little lerss toe in , makes for a slightly more expansive soundstage, but less holographic imaging

Never say never... Rodney, thanks a lot for your advice.

I have just tried more toe in and now it's now even better, but also I needed to move speakers more from the back wall because now left speaker's back woofer goes straight to the left corner of the room making more standing waves. With more distance from wall, it's OK.

There is only one downside, now sweet spot is smaller on a wider area, but almost perfect on the listening position itself!

I've read that Vivid recommends that kind of toe in. Apart from sound stage, how does it compare in sound colour / body?
Because I had read about Vivid's recommendation I gave it a go with my Dynaudio C1's and it wasn't a success. Too long ago to remember why though.

Jim Smith reckons more toe in makes for a better soundstage for more than one listener but doesn't recommend it for a single listener. There might be something in the way the Vivids project that it works for them. And if it does, I would think it will also do for the Phantom as it's got the 'same' round body.

The vivids have very good off axis performance .. hence you can toe in more than usual.

Melco N1ZH - sometimes anoying but wonderfully sounding machine.

If only Melco made better app than Kinsky and Lumin I'm using. CD ripping also not functioning reliably (in my case Asus usb DVD/CD drive).

If I haven't said it before - just love your room!

It's a lovely looking setup. I particularly like the Giyas.
What is the rear wall made of? It looks like it makes a very effective diffuser of rear wall reflections.
