2 x 300 Watt into 4 Ohms...1200 Watt for a dual mono. So they haven't changed the power. If anything, it's down a bit.

Interesting that the same DAC is still used, Burr Brown 1792. It seems a slight upgrade from Expert pro, with more power and online configuration. Why the online configuration is not offered for Expert is beyond me. The AES/EBU digital input is also not available anymore.This is a ploy to entice Expert Pro owners to upgrade for a 25% discount. I will most certainly stick with my trusty 220 CI.

Yes, exactly.
In addition, the option to link more than 2 amplifiers has disappeared. Probably because the connection between ASTRA master and companion is made with two RCA cables (not with one, as with the Expert).
I looked at the new configurator: many settings/configurations disappeared from here too (in addition, I already found a bug).

One thing I really like with the new Astra is that I don't get the itch to upgrade. USB-C?! No AES, two toslinks. To who are they aiming this very expensive product? And the increase in price for the "Opera"-version is a bit silly.
The sound have to be really spectacular, or I cannot see them selling many of these units.

The configurator has neither the option to add a new amplifier nor the option to remove an amplifier.

SweetRoom seems also to be lost...
Somehow it looks like a downgraded Expert...less connection options, less power, less features.
If you have any expensive AES or USB cable you cannot use them anymore.
Even with the trade in option it would be >20k€ for my Expert 1000...does not sound very interesting
Guarantee is only 2 years, Expert was 5 years!
