RE: What album are you listening tonight? - thumb5 - 14-May-2017 Ibibio Sound Machine eponymous first album (Qobuz) A new band to me - really enjoyed seeing them play a couple of excellent tracks from their later album "Uyai" on Jools Holland's Later (BBC TV) last night. As far as I can see, that album hasn't made it onto Qobuz yet. (By the way, 10cc were also completely excellent, I thought! Sounded rather like a UK Steely Dan.) RE: What album are you listening tonight? - K4680 - 14-May-2017 A good start for Monday 'Electric Ladyland' - Jimi Hendrix Experience, 1967 One can almost not believe some winegrowers make wines with Rock CD cover RE: What album are you listening tonight? - K4680 - 14-May-2017 One can almost not believe some winegrowers make wines with Rock CD cover RE: What album are you listening tonight? - thumb5 - 20-May-2017 PJ Harvey "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea" (CD rip) A present from my sister, who has excellent taste RE: What album are you listening tonight? - Hifi_swlon - 21-May-2017 Not a bad weekend - saw Sasha at the Barbican Saturday - doing half Scene|Delete and half older stuff. String section, percussion, synths, keyboards and vocalists. Then discover this. RE: What album are you listening tonight? - K4680 - 22-May-2017 Music from Free Creek is an album from a series of 1969 "super session" recordings by Free Creek, a group composed of a number of internationally renowned musical artists of the time, including Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Keith Emerson, Buzz Feiten, Mitch Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt. RE: What album are you listening tonight? - thumb5 - 23-May-2017 The Third Bly de Blyant Album (CD rip) Wonderfully off-the-wall jazz. RE: What album are you listening tonight? - thumb5 - 27-May-2017 Brahms Violin Concerto, Vadim Gluzman (Qobuz) Lovely performance and recording. RE: What album are you listening tonight? - K4680 - 27-May-2017 Southern Rock What album are you listening tonight? - LBameule - 27-May-2017 Jaco Pastorius; Truth, Liberty and Soul. Live in NYC. 192/24 Not much to say, actually, but simply stunning. The recording is wonderful, the music more so, and they guy is (as we all know) simply beyond belief... at the same time it was new to me as this is recorded with Word of Mouth, his "big band", mainly a top-notch wind section, no less than 15 musicians there. Simply unmissable. L Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
