RE: What album are you listening tonight? - Confused - 16-Nov-2014 (14-Nov-2014, 02:35)LBameule Wrote: Was that Donna Summer record influenced/produced/whatever by Giorgio Moroder? I think he's to blame... Indeed so. Giorgio Moroder is in fact to blame for many, many, good things. And he hasn't stopped yet ..... RE: What album are you listening tonight? - Charlemagne - 17-Nov-2014 Christina Pluhar / Music for a While - Improvisations on Purcell Well known classical music in a jazzy style, wonderfull recording; I love her voice. Qobuz streaming / also available as a highres download. "One charming night is better then one thousand lucky days" in the old days they knew where they were talking about! Cheers RE: What album are you listening tonight? - amabrok - 18-Nov-2014 Lund Quartet self titled album on Tidal sweet ! Qobuz: Streaming vs playing downloads - Mohmm - 18-Nov-2014 Hi, I notice Qobuz is quite popular here. Some of us are streaming music from them and some, including me, play downloads in all available resolutions from Qobuz. Is there anybody having both, streaming CD quality and playing downloads of the same piece side by side? How do they compare music-quality-wise? Being a regular customer of Qobuz, I didn't yet want to go the streaming route because I'd expect potential compromises in the quality of the signal including delays, hickups etc. Listening to Gounod, Mors et Vita, Radio Symphonie Orchester Frankfurt, Budapester Rundfunkchor. Recording quality could be better but the music just fits my mood right now. RE: What album are you listening tonight? - thumb5 - 18-Nov-2014 Hello, I haven't done a direct comparison between streaming and downloads, but I've found streaming from Qobuz to be very reliable - I don't recall having heard any drop-outs or hiccups at all. |
