Just received it along with the iFi  power supply.  Took all of about 10 minutes to unpack it,  hook it up to my Dev 200, select the Roon app for it, and enable it in Roon audio. Piece of cake!  Probably took me as long to apply the tiny little rubber feet than getting it to work.  Total piece of cake.

Now, I can't speak to sound quality just yet but based on all of maybe 20 minutes listening, it sounds pretty awesome and probably every bit as good as AIR if not better.  But give me a few days and a chance to switch back and forth between it and AIR and I'll report back.

Question for all of you that have already been using USB input to the Dev ... While my Devialet is 10 months old, this is the first I've used the USB input.   Have you found that the USB input benefits from break-in?   Just curious.

One very minor disappointment...   It comes with a USB type A male to type B male adapter.  Unfortunately, if you're using the Devialet RCA inputs closest to the USB port on the back of the Devialet (or at least, on my 200), you won't be able to align the mRendu to use the adapter.   Perhaps if the RCA connectors you plug into the Devialet were just slightly smaller, it might work.  Not a problem really since I have a nice 1' USB type A to type B cable that works nicely.

Woohoo... like Christmas in May!

Now that is exciting!  Smile

Hope that mine is on the way soon....really looking forward to try it. Will use Bubble to begin with as control but I think a trial period with ROON might change that.

Nice, enjoy!! Smile Us poor Europeans haven't even received shipping info yet! edit: or is Borgen from outside the US as well?

And I do surely hope it sounds better than AIR even with the iFi, if not I will sent it back/put it up for sale immediately.

I think microRendu vs AIR will be a very informative test.  Cirtainly AIR acts as a kind of 'standard' reference level of sound quality that very many of us on this forum can relate to.  Keep us posted mdconnelly, this will be interesting!

Yeah, getting a 24h head start on the mailing list seems a bit redundant if buyers in the US receive their units before the overseas orders are even shipped. Ho hum.

It's definitely clever what they've done - and I'm not the first to think this - by separating the device and PS and making the endpoint itself relatively cheap it seems like an absolute bargain if it can better high-end rivals. Except if it takes a high-end PSU to do it may end up being more expensive in which case there may have been better options. It's going to be tough for me to tell as the best source I've had here was an Aurender on home loan and I'm never going to remember what that was like although I perceived a lot if extra detail at the time. Now all I've got is my Mac/Intona so if it doesn't blow that out of the water I'm going to be massively dissapointed.

It would of course be a lot more fun actually listening to it rather than hypothesising about what it might do, while reading other people's journeys and wondering if it will ever even leave the US shores.....

Ok maybe we should have a curfew on feedback until all Devialetchat members have received theirs! Wink Big Grin

Based on the Regen, I'm assuming it would poke out the end of the case by a fair amount even if the adapter would squeeze in there? It's gonna have to be on a cable for me....

RE: Sonore Streamers - AllenB - 05-May-2016

Just ordered mine, but probably have to wait until June for shipment. Will be using it with Uptone JS-2 and Chord Signature TA USB cable. Also TP Link fibre optic break on the incoming network cable. Should be interesting!

RE: Sonore Streamers - octaviars - 05-May-2016

The Sonore microRendu thread at Computer Audiophile are starting to fill up with the first comments about the microRendu. After reading it I want mine to arrive now so I can start testing it.

RE: Sonore Streamers - Borgen - 05-May-2016

ref shipping to europe,
Mine is in transit (shipped from New York) and I am in Oslo, Norway. Hence, it doesn't seem to me that they favour US citizens when it comes to delivery.

Did you get a mail with shipping info? I ordered mine the day after I got the mail but it has not yet shipped I think.
