For those who might not have already seen it, here's an article by Archimago about the value of "galvanic" isolation for Ethernet in audio systems: http://archimago.blogspot.co.uk/2016/11/measurements-on-value-for-ethernet.html
It is interesting to see some measurable effect being demonstrated, even if he then argues it should be too small to hear in any system that sounded half-decent in the first place (my paraphrase).
