So I just thought that I'd give this thread a weekend 'bump' in case anyone had missed it's existence. Well, the 'bump' worked for me. I wrote pages of comments in various threads, but did not vote. With the 220 Pro in place for about two months, I'm in the 'Yes!' camp, and voted accordingly. I think the upgrade would suit you because of the low volume performance of the Pro series. The bass and treble aren't diminished and the width and depth of the soundstage remain intact. Have you experienced any perceivable difference/improvement with the analogue output feeding your headphones at all Alex? I've hardly undertaken any headphone listening to think I would notice any difference but was just curious if you had. [edit] to add I will vote soon once I have had a few more days with my 440 RE: Poll: Do you like the sound quality of the Expert Pro upgrade? - Axel - 06-Feb-2017 (05-Feb-2017, 04:07)tyefighter Wrote:(05-Feb-2017, 03:54)Axel Wrote: I think the upgrade would suit you because of the low volume performance of the Pro series. I haven't used the analogue outputs of the 440 Pro alone to drive my cans, only through my Rupert Neve Designs RNHP headphone amp. To me, the Neve is the best headphone amp. that I've heard. I've auditioned some very expensive and some at the cheaper end of the scale, but there's something about the Neve that ticks all the boxes and pushes all my buttons! Alex. |
