Warm units when not used? - dbescos - 08-Feb-2017

Hi,

My two silver units are a bit warm the next morning after a night not being used.

I would appreciate if you could let me know if this is the expected behaviour.

Many thanks in advance for your replies.

[As per an older post in the forum it seems that it is the standard behaviour]

Yes it is. It's even a good sign : they are alive ! I wondered about it too when I firdt noticed that and I've asked to Devialet about. They told me that it was natural. If you want to avoid it, the trick is to push the button on the back during 8 seconds to turn them off (and same way to turn tem back on).

Are you sure? Huh  That would be great news! I hear this first time now and if this really works I will switch them off in the future when I am not at home during business trips!!

Seriously? 8 seconds to turn off? Is this documented anywhere? First I have heard of it and I've had them since introduction.

No, this is definitely not documented anywhere.

Ok guys - to make it short - it WORKS! Just switched off my 2 Golds and my Silver and they are not visible anymore in SPARK. The switch off was accompanied even by a sound confirmation and wing shakeafter approx 5 seconds of pressing the button. Now waiting that they are cooling down... That would be the final evidence.

I am 1000% confident that this was NOT possible with an earlier releases because I have been trying this earlier without response

Great stuff - just wondering WHY Devialet is not commenting this feature which really makes sense.

Isn't the long push to reset all settings? I've done that before to reinstall my two Phantoms and had to reconfigure them in Sparks after.

I believe three rapid pushes resets the Phantom.

It's working. I just tried it and the annoying noise from the Gold's internals is gone. It makes me believe that it's the WiFi module that is the culprit, not the PSU as I thought. The speaker is missing in Spark.
