Download roon on your laptop, use the ipad as a control center and play from there (On the Ipad you just download the app) but roon core has to be installed on your laptop

I´m listening from my laptop.
There´s any advantage to get Roon in this situation?
Can i do the same from an IPad, without any sound quality loss? Or both?
What i need to do?
Sorry guys...

To keep it short and sweet...

You can install Roon on your laptop and then play via your Expert amp without using the Devialet AIR driver.  You can control Roon (to select what music to play, control volume, etc.) using the Roon UI on your laptop and/or on an iPad.

There are at least two possible advantages to this set-up:

1) you like the Roon UI and the capabilities it gives you to access your music, with extensive metadata and links between artists, composers, etc.

2) the direct playback mechanism from Roon to the Devialet may prove to be more reliable than using the AIR driver software on your laptop

You don't need a NAS or an NUC to benefit from Roon.

Short and sweet, thumb5.
Thanks!

Ok, Roon is Running and i´m using an IPad as remote, all very clear,
Some doubsts:

— I´m pretty much sure that i´ve a better sound without the ETH cable, just wireless mode. Makes sence? Not so much for me.
— About Roon settings, sample rate and bit pper sample, all at max.?
— There´s a way to control the amp volume itself?

Thanks gents.

Are you sure you're setup with the new built-In air? Volume and sample rates should be setup by default.

I´m almost sure, yes. On playback settings the Max Sample Rate and Max Bits Per Sample are disable.
And i´d like to know if it´s possible to control the gain in the Dev. I can manage the volume but in the amp is always the same value.

There's something wrong in your setup. When I change volume in Roon directly connected to the Devialet (no Mac or Windows driver) I see the volume changing on the amp display. And vice versa.

@BoyScout

Go into Settings -> Audio

Scroll down and in the Network section you should see your Devialet

Enable it if you haven't done so.

then click on the two small gear wheels.

Choose Device Setup

You are on the General Tab.

Hide Volume Control in Roon - should be set to NO

External Volume control - set to None

Now Click the Playback Tab.

You can set Buffer size ( I use 50ms)

Max Sample Rate - I set to "Up to 192kHZ"

Click "Save Settings"

Changes you make on Roon will be reflected on Devialet display.

First of all, thanks for the support, baddog.
As you can see above the volume set up was already done like you mentioned, but remains altered. I can´t control the Dev volume, just the Roon volume.
The Sample Rate i altered according your suggestion.
There´s something missing here...

RE: Roon supports Devialet AIR - mdconnelly - 13-Jul-2017

With the new Roon update, controlling the volume in the Roon application is exactly the same as turning the dial on your Devialet remote. I was a bit confused as well, but if you can see the volume slider in Roon for your Devialet and move it, then you are changing the amp volume and display.

If you don't see the volume slider in Roon, then there is something wrong.

Of course, be sure you turned off your old Devialet AIR driver and config in Roon so that you're only using the new one.
