Bravo. Devialet offered to its clients more than others. I bought 170. Now I have 200. 30W free of charge! New firmware offered me better sound. I am using 7.1 and sound is great, much better than with 6.version, also sound is great thanks of SAM which costed me nothing.

Majority of high-end producers want a lot of money for any extras. Devialet offered a lot for 0 extra USD/Euros.

Now we are waiting for firmware 8.0 with some great new features. Lest's write to Thierry to give us some info when we can expect it? Now when They finished launching Phantom our new firmware should be a priority for Devialet. The said that new firmware will appear at least every 6 months. So a new one should be in January/February 2015. Let's push Them a bit;-) It was written that Thay have 15 specialists in programming. So...

What has been delivered so far is more than one could ask for BUT the backup and beta software have been real downers. Phantom this and that, there will always be new stuff coming up, ie the normal product cycles that the industry runs on.
Pretty good sounding at home I must say and for the 'moderate' outlay compared to much else on the market that delivers this music experience. How much better will nextgen be? I guess more will happen in the technical/convenient/cost effective solutions than highest hifi last drops of extraction.
Is perhaps the nextgen a physical experience, having sweat drops landing on your face from a worked up Billy Idol?

Hi Mike,

The day that I have sweat drops landing on me from Billy Idol will be the day that I sell my hi Fi system for good Big Grin!

David

I agree. If some has to sweat on me than it would have to be Tina Turner, not Billy Idol.

Ha ha, I had an internal fight if to write Billy or Tina LOL!

I like this spirit and i second the motion! and I hope Devialet reads this. yes we are spoiled in a way and yes other high end manufacturers do not offer free upgrades, but hey we want our firmware updated every 6 months as promised. i guess it is fair, because after all along other things the EVO platform is why i choose Devialet.

Well ... new features would be nice but existing features which work would be nicer ... configurator ... white noise ...

Agreed. The assumption here is that firmware 8.0 will resolve all the current issues and not only bring in New features

Hi,
I read contradicting notes on Phantom inputs, once it was a USB, and in a review it was a Toslink... then it was mentioned in one of the releases that it would easily be part of one's home-theater setup!
Anyone has an idea about this matter? What options does one have to feed a Phantom other than music server via app and iOS?
Thanks

I so agree. ..and get that DoP already Devialet. DSD is no end all by any means, but plenty of us have oodles of DSF files we want to play with the Devialets' DAC.

I think if you read it this is the bit that the Dialog handles. But as even my dealer has no firm data on what all of it does I think that trying to Try, Condemn and Hang Devialet on so little information seems a little previous. Can't anyone on this forum wait a little to find out facts first !!!!!!
