Setting up Benz Micro Silver - Arjan - 17-Dec-2017 Dear Devialet Friends. I am a newbie to vinyl and bought a project classic. Recently I replaced my cartridge with a Benz Micro Silver. The silver is a MC cartridge which can be used on a MM phono stage. Using the expert configurator and selecting the cartridge the values 200 rms and high ohm output are used and their is massive distortion Based on this I configured the cartridge as a MM with rms 2.0 and 100 ohm (maximum setting is 120 according to Benz Micro website). There is no distortion anymore but have I done the right thing or am I completely of track. Below are the settings from Benz Micro Benz Micro Silver MC Phono Cartridge Specifications Type: Moving coil stereo cartridge Cantilever: Aluminum alloy tube Stylus type: Elliptical diamond Stylus tip radius: 0.3 x 0.7 mil Vertical tracking angle: 20° Output voltage @ 3.54 cm/sec: 2.0mV Internal impedance: 120 ohms Frequency response: 20Hz-25kHz Channel balance @ 1kHz: >1.2dB Channel separation @ 1kHz: >30 dB Dynamic compliance: 15 µm/mN Recommended loading: >200 - 47k ohms Tracking force range: 1.8-2.2 g Tracking force recommended: 2 g (20 mN) Optimum working temperature: 23° C Break-in period: 30 hours Your help is always much appreciated.
