Can the case be buffed/polished to remove marks? - wikeeboy - 29-Jan-2018 Sorry if this has been asked multiple times before, but what is the best way to bring the case back to a perfect finish? Can the case be polished or buffed out? If it can, is it something you can do yourself or really only done by a professional? Appreciate your input! RE: Can the case be buffed/polished to remove marks? - Confused - 29-Jan-2018 We did have this cleaning thread many years ago, might be worth a quick read. I appreciate that it does not fully address your polishing question, but it is a start: https://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?tid=333 This one does cover polishing: https://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?tid=2992&highlight=polish and another one: https://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?tid=2499&page=2&highlight=polish RE: Can the case be buffed/polished to remove marks? - wikeeboy - 29-Jan-2018 (29-Jan-2018, 11:06)Confused Wrote: We did have this cleaning thread many years ago, might be worth a quick read. RE: Can the case be buffed/polished to remove marks? - mmorrison55 - 14-Dec-2018 From my research, it’s generally agreed upon that you can’t really polish out swirls and scratches from chrome like you would with paint.when you polish out scratches on your painted auto, you are really removing the clear coat down past the scratch depth. If there were a top coat on the devialet chrome finish you could do the same. But when it comes to chrome finishes, I think we are SOL. Hopefully someone can contradict my research because I would like to remove some fine scratches myself. To give some Hope, I think you could try some chrome polishes that would fill in some of the swirls, but it’s only a mask, not a true remover. You wash the cloth, spin it until it is only vaguely damp and apply two or three drops to the cloth. Takes less than 20 seconds for a gleaming surface that also resists fingerprints for a while Can the case be buffed/polished to remove marks? - paul.oorbeek - 02-Mar-2019 Mine did have swirls all over and fingerprints i cleaned it with Novus 1 and looks stunning now. Do you have any before pics?nd did your u have to use a lot of pressure to remove the swirls? It is the antistatic daily cleaning version so only normal pressure is used. Also dust is now more easily removed and it does not attract dust that easily now. I had a lot of swirlls that where visible in normal daylight and dark spots all over the body. If you now touch it fingerprints are easily removed.
