I stopped my fibre optic tweaking because it was complicating the setup for limited gain. I suspect that any SQ improvement is setup dependent, hence the difference with Markush.
I did not get into external clocking. Too many additional bits, cables etc. And not cheap! I prefer to look for simplified solutions and hence my interest with what AustinPop found. I am still looking for a used Phoenix and it may take a while before I can post my findings.
