DEVIALET now Roon Ready. - BoyScout - 12-Feb-2019

Has anyone the same email from Devialet?
And what means for someone who has already Roon instaled in a computer.
Is the same,or not?

RE: DEVIALET now Roon Ready. - audio_engr - 12-Feb-2019

Just now received an email from Devialet that Firmware 13.1.3 w/ DOS 2.1.4 is now available as a download. When I opened the changelog, it says as follows:

New features
• Roon Ready Certification
• Support for RAAT protocol (Roon Advanced Audio Transport)
• Chaining : Extension to 16 units (instead of 8) for extreme configurations
• Lower power consumption in sleep mode (around 1W)
Fixed
• IP address error when several Expert use DHCP on the same network
• Compatibility with some SD card models during software update
(similar to 2.2.3)
Still being worked on
• Devialet AIR: Windows instability
• Devialet Remote App : Volume control is inactive before streaming starts

I use my Roon Nucleus fed directly to my 440-Pro-CI using Ethernet. What does Support for RAAT mean for me ?

Yes, received the email with the download link. Has anyone tested it ?

Yes, it works, though oddly enough Roon when one goes to Settings-> Audio it shows the Networked roon ready Devialet with a marking of “Uncertified” in Red.

Is the core infinity board necessary for this upgrade?

Think this will need a Roon update to confirm certification

Devialet is perfectly streaming with Roon since long time via Ethernet, also the older Experts. You can use the code also.
New is the RAAT protocol, it is now possible to group it with other RAAT devices and it will play in synchron. If the quality would be better is a question.

Now with the qobuz integration in Roon it is really a strong recommendation (qobuz 4 weeks trial in all high- and low resolution). If you "like" a album in qobuz, it automatically comes into your own library as a new album, no further search anymore.

Thanks!

It will need a small upgrade from Roon as currently the Core just sees it as a generic RAAT device, hence the generic icon and certification warning. It won't stop it working properly.

Will be interesting to see if Roon roll a new upgrade just for this or wait to include some of their own fixes.

BTW it does sound tighter.
