Devialet Expert Po + Magico ... now there's a combo on my bucket list. The M3s would be to die for, but I am very curious about their smaller brothers, the A3s. Those could be within reach.

I have listened to the A3 with all Experts and they work really great with the 220 and up. For some reason I did not like them with the 140 and 210

You're lucky. You've got access to a wider range of acoustic products in the UK than is the case here in Australia and better local representation by the sound of it.

The stickers detach quite easily with label remover so if I get enthusiastic I can now get the panels better positioned!
Thanks, Ian

I think the A series are, comparatively, very good value with so much technology dripped down from the M series. The conventional M pricing is prohibitive in the UK but a couple of guys I know in the USA and Poland got their Ms at something pretty competitive.

Hi Axel Hi David A

One of the, hopefully common, traits of hifi obsessives is that that OCD extends to putting even minor faults right.

So I could not resist doing that with the panel mount fault spotted by Axel and David, and in fact another five mismounts on the side panels. Luckily the labels detached with a bit of label remover and my OCD approach to drilling holes in the right places meant that inverting the panels was easy.

Thanks guys!

@IanG-UK

First, it's hard to see the side panels but I do think the front panels look better with that left hand panel up the other way.. Well done.

Next I will admit to being obsessive enough to do what you've done. Honesty compels me to admit that I show greater signs of obsessiveness than that.

You didn't mention it so I assume you didn't notice a difference in the sound. As I said, I didn't expect that there would be one but if there were then I would think it would be the changes to the side panels that made the difference rather than the change to the front panel.

I've not tried it soundwise yet - I doubt I will notice anything but I'll be happy knowing that the visuals are right.

The side panels needed more swapping around and, indeed, one was not merely a 180 degree rotation fault (solvable) but an impossible horizontal rotation where the wood has been adhered on the wrong side. I've emailed GIK to try to fix that!

Obsessions are not that bad as it helps one be determined to get things right. When it is a very personal hobby it is harmless. When it is a global political issue (no idea who I am thinking of) then it is a touch different.

@IanG-UK

Obsessions are not that bad, especially if you enjoy them :-)

Hifi is something we're in for enjoyment, at least I am.

Hi Ian. Don’t like it. Now they all look like they’re upside down!  Tongue Big Grin Wink

Hi Axel. I think the clue is in your name?

Oh gosh. Now I have to turn all of them over. Or mount them cloth side up. Or mount them horizontally.

No time to listen to music!
