Using Reactor as subwoofer? - ogs - 12-Feb-2020

Who will be the first to use a Reactor as subwoofer? The new Reactor Custom  600 has AES/EBU, balanced analog and Dante support. Would be a nice sub for KEF LSX or any small standmount really. Very compact, but extremely capable.

I’ve often thought that a phantom sub would be an obvious product for Devialet.

With all the SAM measurements you’d think they could do a fantastic job of integrating with a range of speakers.

Agree with you! Phantoms are proper full-range speakers so I guess Devialet do not see it as their 'thing' to support other manufacturers bass-shy speakers... on the other hand a dedicated Devialet sub could even be used with Phantoms in very large rooms.

According to @KdsNext it is difficult for individuals to get hold of Reactor Custom. It may be 'reserved' for installers. If that is the case it is downright silly of Devialet. They finally have a speaker with good inputs and it has limited distribution?!

The professional range is handled by a different part of the Devialet organisation. While it is for installers, I encountered no problems inquiring about the Auvitran Dante adaptor (happen to be out of stock then). An installer needs appoval to sell a professional product to the likes of us.  Maybe they want to check that we know what we are doing?

Instead of finding and talking to an installer to get them to onsell, suggest getting up to speed with Dante and how it works in a Devialet setup. Have a look at the thread below, play with Dante Controller etc.
