Roon is still not 100% stable with a gigabit ethernet connection. Devialet's last FW update did not say that the problem was fixed, only that it delivered improvements in Roon performance. My feeling is that people with a gigabit connection are having less problems than before but that there are still some problems. My Devialet now connects to my network via the B side of an ETHERRegen which gives me a 100 mbps which has worked very well.
In my view RAAT and AIR do sound different but that means that personal preference plays a part in which one people think sounds best.
